They just changed management a couple days ago and recently informed us of this. This bait and switch tactic of luring us into renewing our lease is honestly disgusting and an awful business practice. Incredibly disappointed- they just announced they wouldn't take online payments and are refusing to waive late fees even though they acknowledged that many residents would be out of state/ out of the country due to the holidays. Very disgusting and sleazy business practice. Regret renewing. They also have a cockroach and fruit fly infestation, so don't even sign on with them.

I have lived at River Club for a year and a half now and absolutely love it. For anyone considering it, know that you will be getting the most out of your money here, it’s the best balance of affordable and quality student living I’ve seen in Athens. Management is always there to help, the maintenance workers are so kind and helpful, and the office always has fun events and snacks planned out for residents. Can’t recommend this place enough.

Unless your a 600 pound mammal who isn't high maintenance at all, don't live here. My grandmas 60 year old fridge has less bugs then one room, much less compared to one single apartment. Oh and the staff? Don't get me started. Their not swag. There's a lot of things I rather do then live here, and that says a lot. Go dawgs. #kirbywouldnever

Do not expect a “professional cleaning” as they call it when you move in. BYOB as in, bring your own BLEACH because there will be mystery stains and cockroaches. However, this is not my biggest issue. I don’t mind cleaning up and making my apartment a home, but the management is terrible. They are very condescending, unaccommodating, and definitely talk down to you. All this being said, the facility is decent, and it is what YOU make it. Don’t depend on the staff/management and you’ll be fine :)

I’m not sure how this happened but I explained my horrible experience with the River Club Apartments and now it is no longer here. I will re-explain the experience so individuals who are interested in living here know what to expect. If my explanation disappears again, I will be more than happy to re-explain it as many times as needed. When I first moved into my apartment, it was extremely dirty. The couches and beds were full of animal fur. It was clear that the apartment had not been cleaned before my roommate and I were moved in there. On top of the couches and beds being filthy, my roommate

When I applied, they had me sign a lease before I qualified for the apartment. My only living parent is disabled and on a fixed income. I was pretty sure she wouldn't be able to be guarantor for me. When she wasn't able to be guarantor, they told me that I didn't qualify for the unit. They had already had me sign the lease so I was told I had to find someone to take over the lease or find someone to be guarantor to help me qualify. I couldn't do either one, so now a year later, I have the full cost of the lease appearing in collections on my credit and I can't rent anywhere

DISGUSTING is an understatement. Apartments are outdated, far from everything, loud neighbors, and not to mention the huge cockroaches that crawl on your wall, floor, ceiling above your bed, toilet, and shower. Management is terrible and the front office staff are idiots, they even lost my roommates rent check and then tried to evict her saying she didn't pay. The complex also claims to be "gated" but they're left wide open 24/7 so just anyone can come in/out, the gym also closes at 7pm and the pool water is green. I lived here from August- December and now they're trying

Lived here for one year and hated it. Not only is it far from stores and campus, the apartments themselves are terrible. Has issues with cockroaches all year that they didn't help with at all. The walls are super thin. The management themselves is also terrible even though we went through management changes. They charged us for things in our apartment done by previous tenants that we had written down on our paper and when we tried to contact them, multiple times, they never got back in contact with me. I called for weeks and weeks, sent follow up emails, and they threatened to send the payment

River Club is not nearly as bad as people make it out to be. The apartments are in good condition for a college-student complex. You do have to clean the rooms a bit, but you have to do that everywhere. Maintenance responds to requests quickly, especially if you put in you maintenance request to the front office. The internet is slow, but it is manageable to work around. Overall, it is not an awful place to live at, and the other reviews are completely overblown.

This is an awful place. When my cousin moved out and scrubbed everything top to bottom, he was charged $45 for leaving the bathroom in "poor condition". It was in perfect working order and sparkly clean before we left. Maintenance requests take forever to be fulfilled and the office out front is rude and isn't helpful in the slightest. When you mark that something needs to be looked at, they'll stop by, take a look, and mark it as perfectly fine without fixing a thing. Do yourself a favor and live somewhere else. There are better places on campus.

DO NOT LIVE HERE! On the outside, and inside the show apartments it looks like a great place to live. Don't be fooled, because it isn't. I read the reviews and didn't believe them myself until I lived here. It was the worst experience I could have ever imagined. The front office staff is rude, and unwilling to help you. The apartments are filthy when you when you move in, so be ready to deep clean your room, and apartment on move in day before moving your stuff in. The kitchen cabinets, and bottoms of the cabinets are filthy and have water stains all throughout. The appliances are

On the outside, River Club seems nice enough, especially considering the price. However, what makes this place awful is the lack of a decent internet connection. They use a service called Pavlov Media to provide internet, and it's unbelievably bad. Throughout the day, the internet is incredibly average, but as soon as 10:00 hits, it either cuts out or is slowed by about 50%. If you are a student (and most people here are), do not live here. If you enjoy online gaming or even just staying up late watching Netflix or sports, do not live here. There are so many better options to choose from here

This review is mainly tailored towards UGA students. River Club is a decent place to live for an affordable price; however, make sure you have a car as the bus that takes you to campus only comes around once an hour and is rather unreliable. I recommend getting a unit near the front and not facing the woods; otherwise, you may be subjected to pest problems. For example, my friend has had wasps, frogs, and even scorpions in his room. I have never faced such issues do unit choice is very important. The staff is quite friendly and maintenance is prompt. The staff is pretty nice about regulations and

The rate for river club is fairly cheap. 4 bedroom+4bathrooms monthly runs us around 430. (Rent+electricity). It is furnished, and comes with utilities and internet. The rooms are big, kitchen is fairly big, and the living room is ok.
Overall, the apartment is, just that, ok.
Upon move in, there were some dead bugs, and some active bugs crawling around. Despite cleaning, multiple pest controls, and bug spray, cockroaches, scorpions, spiders, and other crawlers keep appearing.
So bugs are a huge issue.

This place is ok at best. There is always noise in the middle of the night from people playing basketball or tennis. Maintenance comes to fix things but it wasn't always done properly. To top things off the front office personnel is rude and unprofessional. They ignore your roommate agreement requests and "make up" fees when trying to someone is trying to sublease. If I can do it all again I would've gone somewhere else. If you can find a better place in your budget... do it.

This is honestly the best place I've ever lived. The staff is very friendly, and the town homes are well maintained. My only suggestion is during the remodel, it would be nice to have a half bath in place of the closet downstairs. Also, maybe the laundry closet could be moved to the dining room and the kitchen opened up to the living room.
