Founded in 1959 by Dr. James Scholles, our doctors and staff have been serving the Cincinnati area for over 50 years. Originally located on Hempstead Drive in Finneytown, the practice relocated to its current location in 1992.

Services
Our eyeglass dispensary is staffed by highly qualified, experienced opticians who work closely with your doctor to carefully address the occupational, recreational and lifestyle needs for your prescription. We also offer our patients the best and most current technology in contact lens fitting including CRT, RGP, multifocal and toric lenses.
Dr. Scholles attended school at Xavier University before graduating from The Ohio State University College of Optometry in 1959. After graduation, Dr. Scholles founded the practice on Hempstead Drive in Finneytown. Along with managing his own practice, Dr. Scholles is very active in optometric organizations.
A comprehensive eye examination is a very in depth experience at North Cincinnati Eyecare. After checking in at the front desk, patients are escorted to our pretesting area to have basic screening tests performed. Pretesting includes an autorefraction which gives an estimation of a patients glasses prescription and a tonometry test that gives a reading of the pressure in the eyes.
Our doctors pride themselves on being accomplished at fitting nearly anyone who is interested in contact lenses. Regardless of whether it is your first time wearing contact lenses or you are simply dissatisfied with your current contact lenses, we are experienced in maximizing vision, comfort, and wearing time for our patients.
At North Cincinnati Eyecare, our doctors are trained to diagnose and treat a wide array of ocular conditions and diseases. Whether diagnosed during a comprehensive eye examination or during an emergency visit, our doctors have the expertise to handle any ocular situation. Whether it be a red eye or loss of vision, we can either treat or arrange a consultation with a surgical specialist so our patients receive the best care possible.

Absolutely amazing, we went in for dilly dally glasses for my daughter who just turned one, between how great the place looks and how fantastic the people who work there are my wife and I have decided it’s where we want to go for our eye care needs.
