Services
Sanctuary is a safe space to explore deep inside yourself and experience healing, acceptance, and comfort. We hope to guide you through past and present events to find new insight, courage, and strength to reclaim and rewrite your story, within a caring and welcoming community. Here at Sanctuary, we seek to provide personal and intentional care for our clients.
Therapy is a journey that you and your therapist take together. During trying times, having someone who will walk alongside you is extremely helpful. Your therapist connects with you and tunes in to your unique challenges with the goal of drawing out the healing potential you already have inside of you.
First, depression is incredibly common - far more common than you probably realize. Depression is a condition that affects millions of Americans each year, and hundreds of millions of people worldwide.

While feeling down or hopeless from time to time is a normal part of life, when those feelings last for weeks (or longer), when it starts to impact us physically (eating, sleeping), when it takes a toll on our ability to function (at work, at school, in our relationships), and/or when those feelings just don't seem to be connected to an event or circumstance ("I'm so empty all the time but I cannot tell you why"), this is a strong sign of clinical depression.
Anxiety is a word we hear a lot these days. It seems to have become more common than ever before, with our society beginning to acknowledge its existence as a widespread and not infrequent human experience. Anxiety, in its most basic form, is a feeling of nervousness, worry, or unease about a situation.
Grief is not only normal, it is necessary. We can experience it in response to a host of losses, but let's talk about grief when someone has died. Grief is everything you are feeling, thinking, doing, and experiencing in response to that death. It is the deepest pain and sadness, but also the shock and the anxiety and maybe even the anger.

Couldn’t even make it thru the initial steps to get started- they were condescending, invalidating, I was not listened to, and they were not focused on offering support. Not therapeutic, definitely a NO.

Sanctuary Counseling has been a life changing place for me. I have worked with the same therapist for years who has been both professional and incredibly competent. The people here are always friendly and willing to work with a client according to their needs. They are LGBT friendly and inclusive, the offices have a homelike feel, and therapists and staff are genuinely warm people. I have recommended them, over the years, to several friends who have had overwhelmingly positive experiences. Scheduling is easy and consistent, billing is fair, and they have been wonderful during covid. I can't say

Terrible service. I was given “financial assistance’ from this place. After 4 sessions I knew enough not to go back. A year later I was billed for a missed appointment (they automatically set up your appointments without telling you.) without the financial assistance. Very much in it for the money. I would NOT recommend this place.

I have been coming here for about almost a year and they have been phenomenal. They've worked with me on payments and sessions. The kindest and sweetest souls work at this place and I wouldn't feel comfortable undoing my trauma anywhere else.

Parents, this practice may have some success stories but I would consider it a risk sending your children here. This combined with them not accepting insurance and using the false term "financial assistance" when it should be called a "minor rebate" for patients who spend into the thousands, it's not worth it.

I don't know what their counseling is like since I haven't heard back after we discussed financial assistance. They claim to offer financial assistance but they went silent after the discussion. This was after explaining that my 16 year old daughter was depressed Ann's and struggling. I seriously felt they are more interested in insurance and compensation than in mental well being of anyone.

Been going here since summer 2016 at least I believe? People here genuinely do care about you and they have a wide range of councilors to help from LGBTQ+ struggles to old and new trauma as well as just everyday life struggles. Only thing to be aware of is they are not in network with insurance, but do have payment options available based on income and individual situation. There are group sessions you can attend or see a councilor one on one, whatever you're comfortable with. Sanctuary does care, but be mindful that they're only human as well.

Be prepared to open your wallet here! If you’re low income they’ll give you a discount, but if you’re a regular Joe be expected to pay big time and subsidize everyone else. They’re there to make money first, help people second!
