Northern Lights Eye Care
We would like to welcome you to Northern Lights Eye Care. If you are looking for the highest quality eye care with a personal touch, you've found the right place! We are conveniently located in Midtown, just a short drive from anywhere in Anchorage. The eye doctors at our practice provide each patient with quality vision solutions and exceptional customer service.

Our Optometrists Doctor Adam Huff, Doctor Ashley Kettler, and Doctor Stephen Stralka are experienced in all areas of vision care. In order to maintain healthy eyes, we recommend annual comprehensive eye exams.
Services
The cost of routine eye exams and prescription eyewear can be of real concern, especially for large families. In many cases, vision insurance can lower these annual expenses. A vision insurance policy is not the same as health insurance. Regular health insurance plans protect you against financial losses due to unexpected eye injuries or disease.
From eye exams and contact lens fittings, to co-managing laser vision correction and cataract surgery, our optometrists provide comprehensive eye care to patients of all ages. We also treat a range of conditions such as dry eye, allergies, "pink eye", glaucoma, the diabetic eye, and macular degeneration.
During a complete eye exam, your eye doctor will not only determine your prescription for eyeglasses or contact lenses, but will also check your eyes for common eye diseases, assess how your eyes work together as a team and evaluate your eyes as an indicator of your overall health. A comprehensive eye exam includes a number of tests and procedures to examine and evaluate the health of your eyes and the quality of your vision.
According to experts, 80% of learning is visual, which means that if your child is having difficulty seeing clearly, his or her learning can be affected. This also goes for infants who develop and learn about the world around them through their sense of sight.

To ensure that your children have the visual resources they need to grow and develop normally, their eyes and vision should be checked by an eye doctor at certain stages of their development.According to the American Optometric Association (AOA) children should have their eyes examined by an eye doctor at 6 months, 3 years, at the start of school, and then at least every 2 years following.
If you would like computer glasses, measure the distance between the computer screen and your eyes. If you are a new patient and wear contact lenses, bring in the contact lens packaging or boxes with contact lens brand, power and base curve (BC). If you ran out and do not know your power, call your previous office and ask them to fax/email it to us.

They have the incorrect address listed under all their websites including Google and Google maps and if you are late at all even if it is due to their incompetence and having incorrect information then they will turn you away and not serve you. At least that is what happened to me. If that wasn't bad enough the receptionist was rather rude as well, more than anything unhelpful. If I can help it I am not ever returning. Extremely unprofessional. I was infuriated when trying to find the place, Maps kept taking me to the Northern Lights Professional Building -- and nobody there had a clue what I was

I love doing business with them. Everybody is professional and friendly. I have not had a problem with them ever since I started going to them for my yearly eye exam and my eyeglasses. 😀 It feels like I am part of the family ❤ I always recommend them when a friend asks me.
Highly recommended!

The doctor and the staff are really friendly but I hate the fact that they can’t insure you quality service satisfaction. I was not happy with my glasses when it arrived. I did mentioned this to their staff but I was only informed they couldn’t do anything about since it was already ordered with my prescription. It wasn’t the quality frame I was expecting and for the price I paid for. They just told me couldn’t do anything about it. I do not want to come back here again.

Been a customer for 10 years+ and my only issue in the past was the wait time which has improved tremendously during my visit a month ago. Staff are friendly and professional. Dr. Huff is caring and very knowledgeable (from your eye health to your insurance benefits). My order for a pair of prescription glasses took about 2 weeks and ordering contacts is super easy, especially with their new online ordering system, took less than a week to deliver.
Overall, excellent customer service! Thank you Dr. Huff and staff!!!
