Created by the owner of Nova Eye Care, Dr. Nhan Tran, the Alaska Dry Eye Center is a specialized office designed specifically for diagnosing and treating dry eye disease.
We are a full-scope eye care center in Anchorage providing eye exams for eyeglasses & contact lenses and medical eye care needs. Services
The practice was founded by the kindhearted Dr. Thomas Roselius in 1977. The practice was located at 2600 Denali Street on the 6th Floor, Anchorage, Alaska for 30+ years. An "American Dream" came true for Dr. Tran when she was blessed with owning a private practice and building! Our original staff, Linda & Tracy, are still here along with additional support staff to help take care of you, our sweet and loyal patients!
The Comprehensive Eye Care service at Nova Eyecare not only performs routine eye exams, but also provides screening and treatment for many general eye conditions. For patients with more complex conditions such as dry eyes, glaucoma and cataracts, we can provide additional diagnostic eye testings or referrals and coordinate care with the appropriate sub specialists.
First you will need an comprehensive vision examination to determine your refractive error ( this is your prescription for eyeglasses). Next we will perform a few additional tests to measure your corneal curvature to determine what size of contact lenses your eyes will need. Contact lens evaluations are different than your annual eye exam.
VSP is your vision insurance for vision exam, contact lenses fitting, eyeglasses (frame and lens) and contact lens material. We will need for you provide us with proper information in order for us to verify your benefits. Optomap Retinal Screening is an essential aspects of your eye health and recommended for each patient each year to detect possible eye diseases not seen unless we scanned you.
Because our Dr Tran is a dry eye patient, she understands your discomfort of day to day dry eye symptoms! This is a detailed examination and diagnostic tear evaluation that will take about 90 minutes-2 hours. Complete detailed consultation and education about treatments, in office procedures, eye drops prescription and self care for your dry eye needs.

If you want to get the best eye care and client service, go to Nova Eye Care. Got my glasses here and was evaluated by Dr. Tran. She was friendly, made you feel comfortable and was detailed in her evaluation. Other staff assisted me with the lens specifications making sure I get what I needed without spending too much. Soon as I got my glasses, I was able to see better and lens was comfortable. I accidentally broke it twice and they were more than happy to fix it for you free of charge. They even fixed my other pair of wonky glasses even if I didn’t buy it there. Hands down best eye clinic! ✨😊

I've been coming here for several years and have always had an amazing experience but last eye exam she recommended I get the blue light filter and I did and it's LIFE CHANGING! I can see better at night, I can see better with lights coming at me at night, it even improves my daytime vision not to mention my call of duty gaming has been better! Get a blue light filter! I called several Optical stores including all of other offices that I have used before. Even though, I was their past client, it was hard to get an appointment. When I called this place, I feel "welcome" . I had consultation with Dr. Tran and she is nice. Entire staff are friendly and very clean and a lot of selections. Love this place.

I went to several Optical stores looking for different frames to replace my broken ones. I walked into Nova and was immediately greeted by an extremely welcoming, helpful staff. There was no pressure and for a smaller showroom, I was surprised at the variety of frames on display. There was even a sale display that had a variety of high end frames for 50-75% off.

I wasn't looking for much when I found Nova Eyecare Center, just an eye doctor to help address a potential issue I was concerned about. Found Nova, saw the good reviews, and booked an appointment.
It was a very relaxed atmosphere, especially once in the examination room. Dr. Tran put on some calming ambient music and proceeded with the examination. It became clear that she is very knowledgeable about her field and cheerfully passionate about helping her customers get the best prescription for their eyes.
Afterward, one of the ladies behind the desk overheard me mention ordering glasses online

I came here for some computer glasses. Upon arrival I was immediately greeted. I showed the front desk staff my insurance and prescription. I was given a quick run down of the glasses and which ones would be covered by my insurance.

At first the staff was kind and welcoming. First they started saying we never sent the insurance through email, when we actually did 3 times. After that they were very condescending and rude. The nurse didn't want to listen to what i had to say. I have major diagnosed anxiety and when they went to take pictures of my corneas they didn't listen too me and when I started to freak out they were saying I'm being dramatic and overreacting. They gave me a unwanted test without telling me what it was and charged me without telling me they were for the pictures. After they look at my eyes

First visit to this office for my children today. The staff was so friendly and helpful from front check in, to eye exam, to picking out glasses. They helped us find durable ones for my son who always breaks his and cute girly ones for my young daughter who hates wearing them because "they look weird". I have been going to Nova Eye Care since its inception. I always enjoy seeing the same staff members year after year. Dr. Tran is very personable and makes you feel comfortable. Their office environment is pleasing. I love the crystal chandelier-style design in the waiting area too!! Definitely a 5-star optometrist office.

The experience here was a good start.. staff seemed friendly, was a pleasant office space, and Dr. Tran seemed nice. But in the 40 years of annual vision exams, I've never left feeling like I was a problem patient or accused of trying to mooch free contacts. As a new patient DR Rosalias was not at all interested in making me feel comfortable. He belittled and talked down to me the entire time. Then Half way through the exam I had to mention "you are going faster than my eyes are adjusting". After telling someone they are going too fast how much more into detail do I need to go? And his response was "tell me how slow I need to go". Not one single person in the clinic was willing to help. After my "exam" the DR asked me If I wanted to purchase eyeglasses From them. I walked around the front

Dr. Tran is awesome! Her staff and customer service are delightful. She's been my doctor since before the new building and she consistently takes excellent care of me and my family. We won't go anywhere else-because she's the BEST! And as a bonus, her office is across from Dairy Queen so you can reward yourself before or after or both! Do both because you deserve it.

I just turned 45 and have been using cheaters since I turned 40. It was time for me to face the harsh reality that I need actual glasses, like full time. I have seen Dr. Tran for many years and still to this day think my eye doc is the absolute best! As a provider she genuinely wants the best for her patients. It is clear by the way she truly listens to concerns then talks with you in a realistic manner, like a person rather than just another patient. To deliver the best options for you, a thorough examination process is done. I absolutely love their cute little zen, boutique style eye care center. Tiffany is absolutely wonderful with answering questions about eyeglasses and they have a wonderful selection and accept a wide variety of insurance. They have gorgeous designer frames like Jimmy Choo, Tiffany & Co, Kate Spade etc. They are comparatively priced with other places in the area as well. I went to LensCrafters first one day while in the mall but learned they didn't accept VSP vision insurance.
Nova Eyecare does and they even had the Tiffany frames I was in love with at Lenscrafters for the same price

Dr. Tran is simply amazing. She accommodated to my eye care needs and desires. She made me feel like she really cared about my eye health and me in general. She is fun, funny, and makes me laugh every time I go in to see her. I feel EXTREMELY comfortable seeing her as my eye doctor and would HIGHLY recommend her. The staff works with you, and ate friendly, professional, and always have smiles on their faces. They hear your concerns and take great care of their patients. Dr Tran and her staff were extremely helpful and friendly. All seem to have a lot of experience The office was clean and newly remodeled. I had been referred to her office by another Dr. That didn't have all the equipment Necessary to complete my testing and so happy he did. I've found my new eye Dr.! I will be back and will recommend her and her staff to anyone needing eye care.
