Maunalani Nursing and Rehabilitation Center is the culmination of a dream and a need in the community. Many years ago, Ethelwyn A. Castle, a daughter of Hawaii, bought nine and a half acres of land atop Maunalani Heights and there built her home. In her will she made provisions that, subject to the life tenures of several relatives, her home would become a residence for seniors in need of comfort and care.
Maunalani serves our community and residents by providing comprehensive rehabilitation and long-term care in a passionate and home-like setting. We identify and fill new gaps in the continuum of care and remain the long-term care facility of choice on Oahu. At Maunalani Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, we take pride in offering the best care to our residents.
Since 1950, Maunalani Nursing and Rehabilitation Center has been recognized as a leader in providing care for those individuals who can no longer be cared for at home due to illness, frailty, or some other limitation. We believe in quality care, compassion and enhancing the lives of every individual.

It was posted 2 residents at their facility tested positive for covid 19. Also, both are vaccinated and are being monitored but what they fail to disclose to you is that not all employees are required to be vaccinated. However in July, 26, 2021 visitors had to show proof of a valid cdc to see their loved ones but you allow employees to work there unvaccinated ?Be aware people ,

My mom and I recently did a visit with my dad at Maunalani. It’s been a while but what a great feeling to know that dad looks great and very happy. A big Mahalo to the staff at Maunalani who are pleasant and loving with all residents and their ohana. It truly feels like home and ohana for all that come to visit. I’d like to say our dad is living his best life and I am so grateful and we appreciate your ongoing love and support.

My 90 year old father was hospitalized and had to go there for rehab. This was during the pandemic so we couldnt visit him, but we called him every day and night. The people working were all very nice. But big red flags about this place is that it is not a true rehab center. We chose this place becasue they said that they would have people to get my dad up and out of bed each day. When they didnt do this and I asked, they said they didnt have two people that could do that. We needed him up and moving. This is not the place to do that. We wanted him up and out of bed to go to the toilet. But the

Although new in the short term rehab, we were greeted with such welcome arms and warmth. They were also very careful about covid and safety for all. The staff seems amazing and caring. I spoke to two of the therapists so far and both are knowledgeable and thorough; asking a lot of questions to better treat and learn more about my dad. I am thankful that my dad is at Maunalani short term rehab and in good hands.

Maunalani Nursing & Rehabilitation has consistently provided a welcoming and supportive attitude during all of my visits to see my sister. The entire staff is so attentive and friendly. My sister is also appreciative of the support she is receiving. In my opinion her mental and physical health has improved significantly. Of course there are good days and better days but it brings joy to my heart knowing the excellent care she is receiving.
My sincere “MAHALO” to the entire staff at Maunalani!!!
