We are a volunteer-based 501c3 non-profit organization located on Oahu dedicated to the rehabilitation and release of Hawaii's orphaned and injured wild birds. Through rehabilitation resources and educational outreach, Wild Bird Rehab Haven makes a difference in our community by helping concerned citizens help the orphaned and injured wild birds of Hawaii.
Our goal is to release the birds after they have recuperated from an illness or injury. Those birds, however, that have sustained injuries that prevent them from surviving in the wild will be adopted out to a certified care giver. In the future, we hope to establish a rehab center for permanently disabled birds.

Services
Here you will find detailed information about what birds require based on their species and age. Wild birds can suffer from common problems affecting their ability to live well in the wild. Seabirds are accepted 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, at Feather and Fur Animal Hospital in Kailua. Other drop-off locations include James Campbell National Wildlife Refuge, the Hawaiian Humane Society, and Hawaii Wildlife Center.
Rehabbers: This involves caring for baby birds until they are ready to go to a foster or aviary. This is the most demanding but also the most rewarding! Different species require different feeding schedules. We support you at every stage with classes, mentors and supplies. Fosters: These are need to care for birds that are eating on their own, but are not ready to be released back to the wild just yet.
If you have found a bird and need immediate assistance, send an email to rehabbers@wildbirdrehabhaven.org. This hotline is monitored by volunteers who periodically retrieve messages and will call you back. Birds can be dropped off 24/7 at Feather & Fur Animal Hospital, James Campbell National Wildlife Refuge, the Hawaiian Humane Society, and Hawai'i Wildlife Center.

I think this place is great. What they do here is amazing. While taking my daily walk I came upon a baby bird that fell from a nest.I was able to get it home but didn't know what to do for it. Wife looked up places and found this one. Once they kinda identified what they were dealing with gave us detailed instructions on what to do. We took Charlie to them after feeding and giving him water. That's the name we gave it, our foster hatchling. There wasn't a charge for them to take him and it was said to take about 5 weeks to care for a hatchling. They take donations, we only had a few bucks at the

Dropped off a dove/pigeon with a hurt wing. The main line was not working and the recording was very long. The option for missouri residents was not working. There is a drop box though. It was very easy to use. If you don't want to have to move the bird into the box, then I would suggest using a shoe box as that would fit. Dunno how the rest works.

I would encourage you to find an alternative to take your injured wild bird to. I took a bird we loved in 7/24 & gave a $100 donation. Was told they would know within a week if the bird was likely to make it. So i reached out to them within that week. Got yelled at for bothering them repeatedly. Never got an acknowledgment of the donation. Today,9/3,way past the 30 days, I called. Again, all these excuses, how busy they are, cant keep track of birds that come, etc... on and on. I pushed only to have someone finally check on the birds records and it died almost a month ago. Gee thanks. Hope you

My sister lives in Hawaii and called me to tell me there was an abandoned bird. She had no idea on who to call so I researched - I came across this non profit and let me tell YOU: they called my sister right back, the volunteers emailed her ten fold. They gave her instructions on how to take care of the bird, and some also volunteered to take the bird and care for it. All within an hour. Please please please donate to them! They are a non profit and such great people!!! Thank you all from NYC!

This place is BS and needs to have its non-profit status revoked. I called many times and got the message only to email to wild bird rehabers. It didn't provide the email address clearly. Sorry I didn't know rehabbers has two "b"s. You cannot leave a message, or email. I went to the website where there is no contact info. I tried again and again until finding out you spell rehabbers with two bs. That was this morning. Still no one has returned my call text or email. This a joke to get non-profit status.

I am not sure if this is the correct place as I cannot get their official site to download...but if it is, I want to thank Auntie Morgan for her care with the duck ( I call her Gracie) that was hit on Kilinoe Street in Aiea on the 15th and returned to the neighborhood today, November 23! We as a neighborhood will take care of her from here

I had just witnessed a rather large terrified pigeon be viciously and brutal attacked by a huge hawk.... it tried to hide under a car but the hawk kept stalking it and making horrid chatter sounds at the pigeon.. then it ducked and ran full speed under the car at the already injured pigeon. Then it attacked it again after it pushed it out from under the car. The pigeon managed to get back under the car again and it collapsed, i was mortified and in shock, i thought it was dead.. the owner of the car moved his car to another driveway on purpose and left the poor pigeon exposed and bleeding badly

I found a homing pigeon who looked like had broken his wing. I didn't want to leave him for the stray cats, so I caught him and took him home. I called Wild Bird Rehab Haven, left a message and someone called me back. (I forgot his name.) But he was going to post on their site. This morning after i let the bird eat and drink water, i caught him and the guy called back asking if anyone else called me back. They did not, so I met him at Costco and he said he was headed to Mililani and would take the bird to get wrapped up..... He said the wing was definitely broken.
He called me back 2 hours

We rescued two abandoned ducklings at our condominium. We took them in because Humane Society said they would probably put them down. We didn't have hearts to let the ducklings just die. Then we turned to Wild Bird Rehab Haven. Left a voice message...no call back. Left another message...someone called back!! She said there was someone in Hawaii Kai who can take the ducklings in but the person comes back from Big Island on Monday so she would have the person contact us. Cool!! Next Monday, no call, no email, nothing. Called back the lady. She said the person would come back NEXT Monday. Okay

About a week ago, in the late afternoon, I found a zebra dove's nest and two baby birds on my front lawn. They had fallen from a very tall tree. I could not reach the branch to put the nest and the babies back, so I placed them on a high cement wall next to the tree, hoping that their mother would find them and sit on them. She did not return that day, nor in the evening. The next morning, I thought the babies had frozen to death in the 55-degree Winter weather, but they were miraculously still breathing. One was pointing his open beak toward the sky, so I used an eyedropper to give him

The world needs more of these beautiful soul individuals.
I contacted Wild Bird Rehab after seeing a pigeon at Walmart with a broken wing. I brought it straight to the Hawaiian Humane Society and handed the bird over. Before I left I asked the staff, "Hey, just wondering, will this bird be put down or will be its wing be fixed?"
"This is a common bird, so we'll put it down."
I was horrified and immediately asked for the bird back.
The bird ended up staying overnight in a milk crate while I contacted the Wild Bird Rehab (left a message and got a call back). We drove

Love these wonderful people! This is the 2nd time I've found a baby bird in my yard, and they were super helpful both times. The first little guy didn't make it, but I was able to get tons of valuable information from them and the 2nd guy is doing great. I would have loved to rehab this bird myself, but I just don't have the time right now, and one of the volunteers was able to take of the bird. I was so sad to find out that the Humane Society only euthanizes the birds, which I'm sure is a very humane alternative for many of the injured babies, but I couldn't bring

I took an injured hummingbird in to the Wild Bird Rehabilitation this morning. I found it last night (I recognize it as one that has been feeding from our feeder for a while), and after it survived the night and started to show signs of improvement I called for advice. The lady on the phone was very friendly and advised me to bring it in immediately. I drove in from about 40 minutes away, and greeted immediately when I came in. Several folks came out to see the hummingbird and they became caring for it immediately. Top notch in my book!

That first review doesn't lie. This organization is more of what this world needs. They really do spend what little they have to make a difference for birds of all types.
I'm visiting Hawaii right now and happened to stumble upon a struggling pigeon at Queens Beach. I thought it broke its wing and everyone else walked by not caring to help it (probably because they don't care about pigeons). The poor thing was exhausted and was rolling around frightened. We managed to get the bird in a little box and brought it back to the place we are staying. I frantically called around for anyone
