Wayne began his insurance career in 1983. He founded Matthews Insurance in 2003 and merged with First Pioneer in 2017. He has experience in multiple lines of coverage including business insurance, farm and agriculture, workers compensation, life insurance and financial planning. He is a member of the Financial Services Institute.

There is NO OTHER insurance agency that I would let handle both my personal and business policies. Our family has been with Dan for years, so naturally we followed him to First Pioneer. Every time I call, I receive a quick, friendly response from one of the ladies who are so nice and professional. My questions are always answered in a polite and understandable way. You get the feeling from anyone you talk to at First Pioneer, that they enjoy what they do and care about you and your needs. I recently relocated to NC. Dan was fantastic, right from my first initial phone call. He explained how to get my NC license, how and when to obtain insurance, and what insurance was best for my needs. I recently bought a second vehicle, and requested insurance to be put on it. This request was made on a Friday almost at 5:00pm. I wasn't expecting to hear from Dan until Monday morning. I was very pleasantly surprised to receive an email, with my policy number and proof of insurance. They have a customer for life!!
