Dr. Winton J. Quock, DMD, was born and raised in San Francisco. While growing up, Dr. Quock was a talented musician. He was the principle violinist in his high school orchestra and was the keyboard artist for several local bands in the Bay Area. Attention to detail, precision, and artistry are traits that Dr. Quock has brought from his talent in music to the world of orthodontics to make him one of the best orthodontists in the Bay Area.
What is an Orthodontist? Orthodontists are qualified dentists, who after graduating from dental school, go on to additional full-time university-based education in an accredited orthodontic residency program supervised by orthodontists. That training lasts at least two to three academic years-sometimes more.
Straight teeth help an individual to effectively bite, chew and speak. Straight teeth contribute to healthy teeth and gums. Properly aligned teeth and jaws may alleviate or prevent physical health problems. Teeth that work better also tend to look better. An attractive smile is a pleasant "side effect" of orthodontic treatment.
Proper cleaning of the teeth to remove food debris and plaque is important to prevent cavities, gum disease and permanent scarring of the enamel. Keeping braces from breaking or wires from getting bent will speed treatment. Avoiding hard, sticky, and chewy foods, including ice, will go a long way in preventing broken braces.
The following orthodontic complications and their treatments are listed in the order of the least severe to the most severe. Only the most severe emergencies may require immediate attention by one of our orthodontists. The majority of these are easily treated with the following helpful hints. An index of helpful terms is also included to help you understand the complication.

The wait times are long for a good reason : Dr Quock puts so much care and patience into every case that he doesn't rush. The waits are very long but that's how you know lots of people want to see him. He is so kind and awesome! Incredible. i think he probably lost money on my case since he wanted to take the conservative route to wait for my tooth to come out on its own, which prolonged the treatment to 7 years! He could have made a quick buck otherwise but he wants the best for you
