Built in 1917, Hotel Vendome was originally built to help with the demand for housing in Prescott. People were moving from the East for the mining opportunities and the health benefits of the dry desert air. When the hotel was built it housed 31 rooms and 16 bathrooms for guests, stating it was "the classiest place in town" Prescott Journal Miner.
People have loved the Vendome throughout the last century and in 1983 a group of investors renovated the old building. They were meticulous about the amount of preservation they did, even down to the numbers on the guestroom doors.

First night was in 22 (23s pull out suite) and was bombarded with activity. Including a white mist pouring through the closet door following tapping and the handle jiggling. Heard a cat meow right by my head. Day 2 we stayed in 16 and holy smokes. Bombarded nonstop by a floral perfume. Had the heat randomly start blasting several times starting around 2AM. Heard the cat toys being batted around. Had the faucet turn on. Stuff in closet shuffled. Loved every minute. Pay attention to that space between wakefulness and sleep.

Yes the Hotel Vendome is quite a bit older then other options and may not have had some of the latest and greatest amenities but that's not why we chose to stay there in the first place. We were in Prescott for the Craft & Chocolate Festival which was happening just a block away on the grounds at the old Court house in downtown Prescott. Also located close to whiskey row where there were a number of shops of various kind, reasturants, and bars. The nostalgia and atmosphere of the hotel just takes you back to a simpler time and really makes you wonder what it would have been like to stay there in
