The Cottonwood Hotel is a great alternative to traditional Cottonwood AZ hotels, motels & B&B/inns when traveling to the Verde Valley and serving its neighboring towns Jerome, CLarkdale, Cornville and Sedona. Nestled in the heart of Old Town and just steps from the most popular restaurants & cafes in the whole Verde Valley (1 1/2 blocks in either direction), largest section of the Verde Valley Wine Trail tasting rooms, bars, saloons & pubs, and a nice array of antique stores, art, boutiques & shops.
Services
The Cottonwood Hotel (a small boutique inn). It is Cottonwood Arizona's historic and smallest hotel. What was once an upper floor prohibition-era 10-room hotel in its heyday, today are the upstairs 4 Unique SUITES. Units are all private and all with their own bathroom. Units 1 and 2 are suitable and comfortable enough for a week vacation stay.
Distributes Body Weight Evenly: Good quality memory foam mattresses distribute body weight evenly, which significantly reducing pressure points up to 80%. No Motion Transfer: Memory foam provides the stability and firmness you need as well as the cradling support. Adjusts To Body & Room Temperature: Memory foam is temperature sensitive to your body temperature as well as the room's.
Suite #2 known as our John Wayne Suite (510sf) is our largest suite in the hotel. This non-smoking, all private, well appointed, 1 bedroom apartment style suite is set up more for vacation rental stays. It has 1 queen in the bedroom, a small bathroom with shower, no tub, a kitchen/wet-bar, and living room has two classic Franklin leather tufted chairs, desk/hutch, armoire/TV, small closet.
Originally two small hotel rooms opened up to make this compact larger room and bath with small shower. Warm open feel with a cozy sleeping nook and comfortable queen foam spa mattress. Kitchenette/wet bar. This unit offers more than a traditional hotel/motel room and is perfect for one night, a romantic weekend, even a week for a traveling single or cozy couple exploring the area.
Even though we refer to our Room #4 as our Mae West Room, John Wayne requested this room because he liked to soak in the clawfoot tub. On several occasions the "Duke" romanced Gail Russell here during their 1946 filming of "Angel & the Badman" He also stayed in rooms (#1 and #2) adjacent the common balcony and room #5.

Friends, today I am at the historical Cottonwood Hotel! The Cottonwood hotel was one of John Wayne and May West's favorite places to stay while they were filming movies in Arizona! The hotel is situated near everything. Wine tasting, nice restaurants, a funky bookstore, you name it! It's not too far from Sedona either. The owner of the hotel, Karen, kindly gave us a tour of the hotel and allowed me to interview her! If you are into Western movies or just looking for an interesting place, to stay consider the Cottonwood hotel! @gorgeous.george2020

Historic charm with all the modern amenities!
This is my second stay at the Cottonwood Hotel in the last couple of months. I love this place and would not consider staying anywhere else.
Located directly on Main Street in Cottonwood and within walking distance to all the wine tasting rooms, funky shops and great bars & restaurants - you can park and forget about your car for a truly relaxed and fun visit.
This is a historic property with all the charm of an old hotel with every modern convenience in each of the rooms. Karen Leff, the owner, has completely renovated and modernized this property

Stayed only one night in February. This hotel is in the perfect location. We parked our vehicle and didn't have to drive anywhere. Everything is within walking distance. They give you a door code to get into the room hallway and another code for your room door...how cool is that?
We had the "wine" themed room.it was like a small studio apartment with a small electric fireplace. The room also had a fridge, a microwave and a coffee pot with the normal pods, creamers and sugars.
At the end of the hallway there was a super cool balcony overlooking Main St. at night we sat out and listened

Right in the middle of old town Cottonwood is this little historic gem. We stayed one night. It's a very old structure - completely redone. The host was courteous, hotel is very clean, just a little outdated but fits with the old town city theme. Great location and within walking distance to food and all the tasting rooms. I was kinda hoping it was haunted

It's small! It's cool! It's not a chain!!! This wonderful gem only has eight uniquely decorated rooms, but it also sports a wonderful balcony overlooking old town Cottonwood. Free, designated parking is a wonderful perk in this busy small town that fills up with tons of out of town visitors. Oh, and it's walking distance to all of the cool spots in Old Town Cottonwood. Please visit this great hotel; I think you'll like it.

A historic prohibition-era boutique hotel in downtown Cottonwood, AZ. A group of 9 booked almost the entire hotel. We were welcomed by the manager, who lived on site. She mentioned she didn't keep office hours and to text her if we needed anything as she too wanted to have a life. To her credit, she returned a text inquiry for the wifi password promptly. I was told I had one of the bigger rooms, the John Wayne Suite. This suite was nicely updated and maintained the charm of a 100 yr old room. After making peace w any residents ghosts, I made myself comfortable. The bathroom was tight

We stayed at the Cottonwood hotel over Valentine's Day weekend. We had a great experience in Jerome. Highly recommend exploring the town. The Cottonwood Hotel was nice. It's ran by one woman, the owner. We liked our room, however, we only had a bathtub not a shower. The room and hotel was very clean and well kept.

If you read my other reviews you will see that I dig old historic hotels and this is a fantastic one. First of all Karen the owner is a fantastic host and was very friendly, informative and helpful. We stayed in the Krazy Kat room (#5) which is one of the smaller rooms in the hotel and is the size of the original rooms. It apparently was one of the ones that John Wayne stayed in when he was in town. While the room is small it is cozy and comfortable and to be honest you aren't really going to be wanting to spend all that much time in your room while in cottonwood, there is just too much

Adequate room at a deluxe price of $175 for a Friday night. A $7.45 Reservation Service fee is gauging as we just phoned in to ask if there was availability...indeed there was.
If you weigh more than 140lbs...room #3 will NOT work for you. Both my partner and I are under the stated weight but had we been bigger we wouldn't have fit into the shower or toilet!!!! No joke...
Great spot though bc you can walk to all the spots on the main drag.

This is the place to stay in Cottonwood. Clean, spacious room and attentive staff. Karen, the proprietor is very kind and gave a us bit of history of the hotel and the town of Cottonwood. We stayed in the Mae West room and liked it very much, especially soaking in the bathtub after day trips exploring nearby Sedona and other historical places. I highly recommend this hotel for couples or groups to get the right feel of Arizona and the attentive people behind the scenes. We are impressed.

My husband and I stayed here for 1 night last weekend and found it delightful! It is in the heart of Cottonwood's old-town Main Street, with an easy walk to restaurants and shopping. We like to visit Cottonwood for a mini-getaway as it is a lovely, friendly town. We have stayed at many of the other "mainstream" hotels in the area, but the Cottonwood Hotel has way more personality! The proprietor, Karen, is friendly and so knowledgeable about the hotel's history as well as 'where to go' and 'what to do' in the area. In addition, the rooms are fastidiously

I was fortunate enough to be chosen for Yelp's field trip to the Verde Valley Canyon Railroad. Knowing the night culminated at the Blazin' M Ranch, I wanted to secure local accommodations, as I knew I wouldn't be feelin a 2 hour drive home after a wildly fun day.
In the event confirmation, Lindsay included a link to the Cottonwood Hotel with a discount code. That was all I needed... ROOM... BOOKED!
Karen, the proprietor was gracious, politely appearing titillated with my non-stop attempts at the humor biz, and personally escorted me to my Wine Room suite. I found the decor appealing

I needed to stay in a hotel close to ASIS for a class that I was taking, and after reading over the choices that were offered, I opted to book at the Cottonwood Hotel. I liked the room offerings, the pictures and descriptions really sold me. But it was nothing compared to when I arrived. The host/Owner, Karen is really personable, the property is very nicely decorated. And on this particular weekend, the city of Cottonwood was hosting their Annual Chocolate Walk. What more could someone want? How about the perfect viewing location for the annual Christmas Parade. My particular room, The Mae West
