The first mining claims were filed in 1876, but it was William A. Clark who would put Jerome on the map by purchasing the United Verde Copper Company in 1888 for $80,000. Clark was responsible for bringing in the narrow gauge railroad, which boasted 187 curves and 28 bridges in the last 14 miles of its 27 mile run.
The Award Winning Asylum Restaurant located at the Jerome Grand Hotel offers lunch and dinner every day. Fine spirits are also served. The altar and most statues are original and the organ is one of only three remaining in the United States. Jerome State Historic Park: The Douglas mansion built in 1916 is now a state museum devoted to the history of Jerome.

Great hotel Very clean and Friendly. Had a lovely time absolutely love their choice of toiletries. They had everything and more that we needed for are special trip. Great variety continental breakfast that goes till 11am not those ridiculous times like 5am to 9am like others. Did have a few paranormal experiences but we were asking for it. The others we were with that aren't into it didn't.
Such a beautiful place and town. I look forward to going again when it's not snowing.

The staff was nice. We had the mountain side balcony which was cozy and private. Draw backs. The pillows were uncomfortable and the bed was not meant for two large people. Also the hotel was full and there were people trying to get their ghost photos so it was a bit loud in the hall way. I did not get any photos or evps, lol. But I swear I heard a little boys voice say Yippee and stop please on the first night and on the second night can you hear me. Who knows. The town does close early so be prepared. Also if you want gas or market items you need to drive down the hill about 4 miles. Over all

This place is so nice. The staff were all awesome and so friendly. Room was an ok size. We stayed on the valley side and had a balcony. The view was amazing. There is a nice little complimentary breakfast in the lobby. Only complaint was toilet wouldn't flush all the way down. Front desk said someone flushed a bar of soap and it is still messing up the plumbing. Other than that it was a great stay. Didn't see or hear any ghosts at night. I did hear a baby crying during the day and there is no babies here right now.

Spent Thanksgiving. Had a wonderful dinner at the Asylum Wednesday night. Wife wanted breakfast, but nothing was open in Jerome. Got exercise walking around. Unfortunately, Asylum only did lunch menu on Thanksgiving. Got our usual room area ,balcony with valley views. The Asylum is a separate business. It was nice to get away.

Amazing hotel! We stayed in the deluxe garden room, it was large enough for 2 adults and 3 children. We went ghost hunting for my daughters 9th birthday, SPOOKY! The room was clean and well decorated, the beds were also very comfortable. The woman at the front desk was great too, she told us about the history of the hotel and she also had a few ghost stories for us.

It's a unique experience. Quirky and different for sure. The free continental breakfast is great because most of Jerome doesn't rise until 10am. It isn't fancy but there's enough to get you started for the day. The location is great and even though our room faced the mountain, we actually enjoyed that solitude. If you are looking for an upscale chain experience this isn't it, but if you want a clean place with some character thrown in, it is fine for a two or three nights.
