Dr. Airey started Appalachian Dental Care when he moved to Boone, North Carolina, back in 2006 so he could provide dental treatments for the people of North Carolina's High Country. Our family dental office is one of the most advanced in the area, allowing us to provide comprehensive but affordable dental care to you and your family.

The whole dental team at Appalachian Dental Care lives and works in High Country, so we want to help give back to our communities here. That is why we volunteer our dental services at the local community care clinic and work with the Salvation Army and Mission of Mercy events. After all, we are a family dental office - and the people here are our "family" as well.
Dr. Steven Airey grew up outside of Kansas City, Missouri, in a blue collar, union area. He attended the University of Missouri - Kansas City for both undergraduate and graduate degrees, earning a Bachelor of Science in biology and a Bachelor of Arts in chemistry before eventually earning his dental degree in 1980.
Dr. Steven Airey and our team are proud of our dental office in Boone, North Carolina. I'm truly disappointed in the front of the house; dr Airey has been nice to deal with but I missed an appointment to have my teeth cleaned. My brother has been in icu in Winston- so my thoughts have been with him and not dr Airey . I was charged a missed appointment fee; after spending close to $10000 with their group. Money rules evidently. Sad!!!!!

First Dentist I've been to that actually worries about your comfort for a procedure.. Didn't feel a thing. His assistant Samantha really impressed me. Caring, compassionate, & professional. Finally, I won't be afraid of pain in my future appointments. The staff are very professional & will definitely make you feel that you are they're top priority !

This man is a criminal. He sold me a mouthpiece that every dentist I have consulted since has told me is a verified sham. Also, he suggested that a tooth cleaning every three months would be "necessary". No others have suggested anything close, this also is a preposterous claim. He is of a new school of dentistry seeking to make money, this is not the place to go for any of your dental needs.
