Zangief Jiu Jitsu
Brazilian Jiu Jitsu is a grappling-based martial art that uses leverage and technique, rather than strength and striking, to control and neutralize assailants. With an emphasis on leverage, grip, position, and the mechanics of the body, practitioners of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu can defend themselves against larger, stronger assailants.

Brazilian Jiu Jitsu is widely regarded as one of the most effective martial arts for self-defense, anti-bullying, and law enforcement, but it is so much more than just a martial art. It improves physical fitness, increases confidence, teaches problem-solving, discipline and resilience, and is a great way to have fun and make friends.

I have been a student of Pprofessor Gabriels for five years. He is an amazing instructor and incredible coach. As one of two women in the school I feel is a safe environment clean environment and one hell of a place to learn REAL BJJ. Oss

Great hands-on instructions. Professor Gabriel gives great details on the techniques he teaches, and ensures the student understands it as they drill it in class. The team feels like family, and everyone encourages each other to always do better.

It’s a great gym with a family environment. Both myself and my 6 year old son train here. Their kids program alternates days of tae kwondo and Jiu Jitsu, which keeps him engaged and learning. Gabe is a great instructor that has helped me improve my Jiu Jitsu tremendously.

This place is the real deal. I've never felt more welcome and taken in as a member of the family! Ever since my first day the owner Gabriel took care of me and gave me a new sense of fun and fitness . I recommend anyone that is questioning if self defense is right for them, to try out Zangief !

I'm moving for the winter but when I come back, I will 100% be training at this gym and hopefully get in my first competition!

10/10 would recommend

I tried a class and signed up the same day. Everyone at this Jiu Jitsu gym made it feel welcoming from day 1. Gabriel has established a team culture and that is apparent when you walk in this gym. The gym is clean and there are no egos here.

This is great place to train. Coach Gabe is very friendly and of course extremely knowledgeable. I've attempted to train BJJ at other gyms but immediately felt like it's a "cult of douchers" and I didn't belong. This place is different, from day one I felt welcomed by all members from black belt to other white belts. Everyone is willing to help and provide advise.

I recently retired and have always been interested in training jiu jitsu. To be honest, starting at a new school can be intimidating. Especially in your 50s. My first day I showed up almost an hour early, sat in my car and tried to talk myself out of it. You're too old to start. You have two fake hips. You're out of shape and haven't trained in anything serious in years. Eventually I manned up and walked through the front door. I met Gabriel Checco and he immediately calmed every fear. His love and enthusiasm for BJJ is completely contagious. There are absolutely no egos in

Zangief Jiu Jitsu is not a school, it is not an average academy, it is a family! Everyone is welcome, awesome kids and adult classes.
This is a great place to begin your Jiu Jitsu journey if you're a beginner like me. Everyone is super friendly and willing to help you learn. Stop by for a few classes!
Wednesday nights are No-Gi with some additional MMA drills worked in. Heavy bags are set up in the back so you can bring you gloves and warm up before class.
I've been in the Zangief Jiu Jitsu family since they opened. Highly recommended!

Awesome people and good instruction. I was visiting and was recommended this place. It's a good size compared to most jiujitsu schools with a changing room and restrooms. The instructor is an active competitor that shows relevant moves which is nice. I'm a black belt and I visit many places only to find instructors teaching moves that aren't practical or effective so it's nice to see an instructor who is mindful of what he teaches. Everyone is very hospitable and relaxed like you'll find at most schools.
