Geoff Jarman, owner of Plateau Motors Auto Repair, discovered his gift with the automobiles early in life and has been a successful auto technician for more than 28 years. He was employed for 18 years as a technician and manager at various independent shops, including a two year stint at an exclusive Mercedes facility.

Proceed at your own risk. Jeff may be very nice, genuine & likable and its one of the reasons I approached him, but he's got many incompetent mechanics working for him. I used his services twice and paid over 1300$ dollars for my car to be worked on. I wont be going there again. Here's a summary of my experience:
1. He fixed an issue with my defective gas pump sensor that did not let me fuel my car, however he refueled the car with low-octane gas when specifically the manual and the car requirements state that it needs a high octane gas. When I brought this up with him, he brushed it off and claimed

They had our car for over 30 hours. We dropped our car off at 8am for an alignment. Called the first day close to closing, they said they were too busy to get to it. (Understandable, Covid) Called the second day at 3pm (2 hours before closing) and they were incredibly fishy over the phone. Told us that our car was shaking and needed new brakes, then said they haven't driven our car yet but they could to check the alignment. (How did they "just know" about the car shaking if they didn't test drive it yet, to be clear our car didn't shake) We asked how long that would take and they quoted another

Great service! Took the car in with no upfront appointment for a leaking coolant issue and Geoff and his team took care of the problem with no upselling and straight up advice. The water pump needed to be replaced. The car feels and runs so much better. He appeared very knowledgeable about intricate details of makes and models and was aware that Audi SUV's manufactured between 2010-2013 have an issue with overconsumption of engine oil after they reach a certain age. Excellent service that exceeded my expectations. There was no wait to bring my vehicle in, and even though the initial diagnostics indicated an alternator failure, they discovered that it was only a belt issue that cost us a lot less than replacing the alternator. They were honest, efficient, and much better priced than the vehicle's dealership. I'll definitely use Plateau Motors again. Thanks, guys!!

I've been very happy with them. but when you leave you don't you don't get the documentation.
I had tires installed with a 70k wear warranty but I have no documentation.
I had a transmission installed, there was no documentation for me to put my glove box about the $6,000 installation that I had performed.
the competence and expertise of the mechanics is high. but when I leave the shop I want to have paper copies of warranty information for things like transmission and tires so that I can have them for my records

Great service. Brought my car in with a blown transmission. They replaced the transmission and fixed a part for oil that he didn't charge me for. Jeff is a great person to work with. The shifter when I first picked it up the car wasn't set right, but after I pointed it out, Jeff had no hesitations in admitting wrong, took responsibility for it, and didn't want to let me go without me being 100% happy with the job. 100% recommend this place. Most honest mechanic I have ever dealt with.

One of the most important things to me about an auto repair shop is that they be trustworthy. I’ve tried several shops on the Eastside, and the one I trust most and will keep coming back to is Plateau Motors. I can’t tell you how many hundreds of dollars Geoff has saved us by being honest about what work actually needed to be done and what could… wait, while other shops were just piling on the list of work that was “urgent”. I had been delaying going to the repair shop with my 2 vehicles and when I brought my first vehicle in for a number of issues the owner of Plateau Motors Geoff stepped me through the required repairs and made a few more possible repair suggestions that were completely optional at this time. I felt that Geoff was going to make sure all safety items were going to be addressed and at the same time he was very fair with his pricing. He is aware of everything going on in his shop. No absentee owner here.
