Sweet Briar Child Development Center
Sweet Briar Child Development Center opened in 1961 when Mrs. Ellen Smith recognized the need for childcare in South Austin. The Sandra Campus was the first childcare center to open south of the river in Austin! In 2013 our Woodway Village Campus opened in Southeast Austin in the Woodway Village Apartments.

We are proud of our long history as a quality certified learning center in South Austin. Our Commitment to Quality: Our centers have achieved the highest quality certifications. We have a 4 STAR rating from Texas Rising Star, a statewide certification program. We actively collaborate with The United Way of Austin in their Success by 6 School Readiness initiative.
Services
Please LABEL everything using a permanent marker with your child's first and last name before arriving! Sweet Briar CDC provides ALL breakfast, lunch, and snacks for our children. We are a part of the CACFP Food Program that requires high nutritional values from all of our school meals. If your child has food allergies please be sure to fill out the proper paperwork to post and inform our staff of the adjustments needed to be made.
Looking for a great opportunity, a rewarding career, or the chance to make a difference? Sweet Briar is looking for dedicated, responsible and creative people that have experience in early childhood education. All employees must pass a fingerprint background check and be CPR certified. We are in need of SUBSTITUTE teachers to become part of our "sub list" when teachers are out.

Caring, knowledgeable and professional staff who really helped my kids develop. My children were at Sweet Briar for 3 years and are aging out. I am truly sad to go. We started at the Woodway Village location and transitioned to Sandra Street nearer to the older kids school after a year and a half. The staff is extremely kind and educated in child development. I was never concerned about my children's well-being. The diet is great and includes fruits and vegetables at each meal. This really broadened my kids veggie options at home which I appreciated. If a normal fall or something happened that

This is a wonderful place for our children. The staff has been so gracious and consistent with care, teaching, and support to the students. During the pandemic parents are kind enough to distance themselves during drop off and pick up. As our kids grow they miss their former teacher but can't stop praising their new teacher. We are so grateful to have found a daycare home.

One of the best day cares in South Austin! The teachers and staff are amazing and the playground is beautiful and enriching. Also, they cook all of the meals fresh in their on-site kitchen. Can't say enough about how much I have loved my child being a part of their program.

This is an amazing daycare. It is small with stellar staff that care. Our daughter's teacher is sweet and patient and our daughter loves her. The curriculum is great and our daughter has learned so much. She learning everyday things like how to clean up and put things in the trash and away and say thank you along with learning animals, colors, numbers and her abcs.
The daycare is so welcoming being in a beautiful bright building with windows and a huge outdoor area. They havegardens and play outdoors under trees with open playgrounds and play houses and play with water tables and bubbles and have

Worse day care ever!! The location at Woodway village Apt is not managed by a licensed director. There is high turn over. The teachers are inconsistent. The one consistent employee is allowed to make decisions such as discontinue care if your child has any type of issues such as speech, cognitive and behavioral including children not being potty trained. The owner doesn't know how nor have the patience for children. You can not rely on this place to open as scheduled. There were times they opened two to three hour late and that's not on a poor weather day. It was due to employees not showing up
