Sake Cafe Japanese Restaurant

Went and sat at the hibachi!! Cook was friendly and cooked everything perfect! The boss made us a chicken rice roll on the house for new years!

I love sake! I usually order takeout rather than dinning in so can’t speak on that side of things. Food is always good and I appreciate the manager (I think that’s what he is) always throwing in freebies so that we can try other option on the menu. They’re always delicious! No issues with service here. Everyone is always kind and welcoming.

So this used to be my favorite go to spot for Hibachi but after my recent visit it no longer is. My husband and I stop in on a Sunday evening ; I ordered my usual spring rolls as an appetizer (I order them every time I go ) and my husband ordered his usual Godzilla rolls . When my spring rolls finally arrived I took a bite it immediately tasted sour as if the vegetables had gone bad. I politely signaled for my waitress to let her know what was going on, keep in mind my husband still hadn’t received his rolls we ordered for his appetizer and now the cook was starting to prepare our meal, so I

Our food selections were good. They made a custom sushi dish for my son and the manager recognized we were return customers and brought us dumplings in the house. Nice touch. One dish took so long we had to start eating ahead of the third meal coming so that our food wouldn't get cold. All in all, if you are not in a rush, pleasant staff and good food.

The only thing stopping me from giving this a higher rating is that the "Hibachi" portion of the menu isn't available for delivery & some of the extra technical flair they add has been removed, presumably due to Covid. I've heard criticisms from others about the food all having a samey taste, but that consistency in flavor across the hibachi dishes is a huge upside in my eyes. I came here a couple of times but only for takeout. I only get the hand rolls, so I haven’t tried anything else. I only come here after work, if I’m in the area and if I feel like getting sushi. The rolls, so far have been pretty decent and tasty. My problem with this place has been the service. I also call ahead and place my order. Well, this time, it’s exactly what I did and the woman on the phone said it should be ready in five minutes. So it took me about 15-20 minutes to get the Restaraunt. When I walked in, like usual, they don’t greet you or no one is at the front. So I end up standing

Firstly we had 3 different servers coming to our table to help us. ordered steak and shrimp hibachi they brung me 2 shrimp, then charged me extra for the shrimp that was supposed to be on the plate. then came over and asked for a tip rushed us the whole time not a very good experience .

Overall, the food is very good. I've always enjoyed the things I've ordered. The decor is elegant and peaceful, but it's getting a bit stale. The special rolls are creative but feel over priced for what you get; smaller size rolls, high cost. Would recommend skipping the specials, just get regular rolls.

Update 4/2/2021, my husband and I went to this restaurant many times after this excellent review and had issues with our food being served with mushrooms, which we advised I am allergic to. We also had lousy service consistently. At least then we were in the restaurant so the issue could be corrected better than yesterday. My husband bought us dinner from Sake for my birthday. Unfortunately, he ordered it went to pick it up 35 minutes later, waited for it for another 45 minutes, brought it home stone cold and yes- my red snapper had mushrooms
