We offer activities which encourage the children to develop skills at their own pace and according to their individual interests. We model and teach Christian and social values, and reach out to children from all races and creeds. We are located on the grounds of St. Paul's Monastery, with ample outdoor space for the children to enjoy nature.

Benedictine communities are the oldest of all Christian religious communities in the western world. St. Benedict established the first monastery in the 6th century in Italy. Since then, Benedictines have lived in monastic communities focusing upon prayer and work.
The Benedictine community of St. Paul's Monastery was founded in 1948 when 178 Sisters left St. Benedict's Convent in St. Joseph, Minnesota and founded a new community in the Archdiocese of St. Paul and Minneapolis. For 17 years, the Sisters lived at 301 Summit Avenue in St. Paul. The growth of the community made it necessary for the consideration of a larger home.

Our son has attended Maple Tree for 2.5 years and it has been a great experience the entire time. The teachers are kind, sensible and approachable, and are happy to coordinate with parents. The director Jennie is wonderful, very compassionate and truly devoted to making the center the best it can be. We and our son have always been treated with respect, transparency and professionalism at Maple Tree.
