Playschool Child Care, Inc. provides the best child care available outside of home with its incredibly robust curriculum that helps to foster your child's development. The Explorer Club is an exciting alternative to typical before & after-school child care programs. Kids learn and connect through play in our 2.5-acre recreation space.

For more than 25 years, we've provided a nurturing environment and trusted programs that support all aspects of a child's development, including physical, creative, cognitive, social-emotional, and more. Everything we do, from relationships we build with members of our community, to our policies, to our daily activities, is centered around our philosophy and commitment to giving kids the skills they need to succeed in life.
Services
Founded in 1986, Playschool Child Care, Inc. has been serving kids and families in Maplewood, Minnesota, and the surrounding area for more than 30 years. We're part of an even larger tradition of education in this community that began more than 100 years ago. Our historical building represents a commitment to the education of children that began on the property in the early 1900s.
By learning through play and setting predictable daily routines and boundaries, we ensure your kids are cared for, safe, and happy. Daily activities like group time, art projects, dramatic play, puzzles, and games support their total development. They learn to wait, how to share, how to calm themselves, how to be self-sufficient, and how to help others.
Since 1986, thousands of young people have discovered the Explorer Club experience at our summer camp and all-year recreation program before or after school. Our mission is to provide a safe and developmentally appropriate environment that fosters a child's natural desire to explore, discover, create, and become a lifelong learner.
Play is often talked about as if it were a relief from serious learning, but for children, play is serious learning. Play is really the work of childhood. Explorer Club plays outside, providing a natural environment for kids to be free to be curious and take risks. From our Ninja Course to Survivor's Island, all our areas are developmentally and age-appropriate!
It is a philosophy that teaches readiness for life through social play and planned activities with peers and adults. We believe all children can and will succeed when given the opportunity to face challenges and learn with caring adults who provide the parameters for their success. The relationships we develop with each family are very important to us.

My son has been going here for 2 years and loves it and as parents we see so many positive changes in him like being more confident and independent. He honestly looks forward to going each morning which makes us feel so good.

Hands down best daycare you'll ever see. You want a respectful, smart, responsible child then this is your place. We had issues with our son in his Pre-K class at a school nearby. We pulled him out and Carol started working on him. We started seeing a change in him and stopped getting the daily phone calls from school. My husband and I were a lot less stressed. We just wish they were a full school!! All the girls there are amazing and loving yet they keep your child responsible and polite. It's amazing what they do!

Hands down, the best childcare center I have ever experienced. They teach respect for others and self responsibility. Something that is lost in other programs and in society in general.

Can't say enough good things about this place. They handle my son's aggressive behavior better than anywhere we have been. He is loving it there. And learning to respect authority (little by little). Hats off to the teachers. This program is excellent.
