This was my first hostel experience. We booked the family room and it was advertised with a private bathroom across the hall. Unfortunately the bathroom had a damaged floor to the point that it would not close. It was awkward to say the least. Another tenent stated it was due to a leaking air conditioner in the hall. The owners should have notified us of that. There isn't a Wi-Fi password noted on the room instructions and no TV. The shared coffee pot did not work. It wasn't the cleanest but not horrible. I assume it's left to the tenants to take care of. The other tenants were so friendly and

This place was a cool find! It was quaint, well decorated, organized and quiet. The location was great...within walking distance of good restaurants. The reason I did not give it a higher rating is room cleanliness. The windows were really dirty - even hard to see through. There was also a lot of dirt in corners.

I loved staying this little hostel! It was nice and safe and very pleasant. The main thing to know is that the bathrooms don't offer any amenities. Not even hand soap. So you'll need to bring all the toiletries you might need. They do provide coffee which you can brew in the morning. The kitchen is nice and has pans, plates, and utensils that you can use. When I stayed there they didn't have any bikes available, contrary to what the booking site said. I'd say the service is far less than what I've experienced at other hostels. I didn't get a great tour or introduction to the place. I had to talk

This place is amazing! I had the opportunity to meet the owners and Wow, the nicest, most genuine people ever. The grounds are pretty cool and there is quite a bit of space for being so conveniently located to Broad Ripple. On my most recent visit there was a little bit of finish work happening following their recent renovations and upgrades. The craftsmanship and quality is really nice and the upgrades are equally nice. All in all it is a wonderful place and one I have been pleased to spend time in.

Luxurious!! This hostel is such a retreat style stay that it surprised me - what find! Spacious, SUPER STYLISH & immaculately clean accommodations throughout. Modern yet with a retro theme - best of now and then that gives a comfortable ambiance I love. I will so stay here again. And that’s not even mentioning the staff who are so genuinely friendly and caring that I have to say they do this from the heart. I feel like I’m in a Bed & Breakfast except with the fun of a hostel.

I would never recommend this venue to anyone. We hosted our wedding here a couple of months ago. The staff was very unprofessional, one showed up heavily intoxicated to our wedding and asked for a drink, was refused and eventually had to be put into bed by my in-laws. Staff offered no assistance throughout the event. I had two fire fighters as guests who pointed out numerous violations and commented that they would never sleep in the green house. They gave me a price in writing for the weekend, I asked several times if a deposited was needed and was told there was no need. Then called three

A great place to stay on a budget. My daughter and I stayed in a private room with an en suite bathroom. It was very clean and comfortable. The other guests at the hostel were friendly and quiet. We were able to start a fire in the backyard fire pit and my daughter enjoyed relaxing in the hammock. There is coffee and tea available to make at any time. There is a fully equipped kitchen with everything you need to make a meal. Friendly and helpful staff and we will definitely stay again when we're in town.

Addie and her friends made us feel right at home! To be honest, it did feel like coming back home at the end of a long day. Indy Hostel had everything we needed in a quiet, hospitable environment. I love that Indy hostel employs area students and gives them valuable experience in dealing with customers and managing an entire house of people.

Only needed a bed for a night in the area and this was the perfect spot. Typical creaks and light noises from other people getting in later than myself or going to the restroom, but slept just about as well as I do at home. Checking in was easy and the staff was friendly. The few other folks I chatted with staying there were friendly as well.
It's not far from Broadripple and Butler and just a few blocks from the Sinking Ship. I was satisfied with my night here for about $34. They even had a fire pit going in back that allowed for a good place to drink a beer before bed.

Aloha! I just recently stayed at The Indy Hostel from July 31st-August 12th. I was picked up by hostel staff from the airport for only $45 which is cheaper than taking a taxi, so definitely opt in for that!
I was working at the fair and since it was only about a mile a walk everyday it saved me from renting a car and was also a great alternative to a hotel. It was my first hostel stay and it went smoothly. It was clean. Most of the guests and all of the hostel staff were very friendly. I worked over 100 hours in 10 days and I was able to sleep every night without being bothered or woken up.

The Indy Hostel is an absolutely phenomenal hostel.
I felt right at home from the moment I stepped in the door. The hostel is located in a large house in a nice neighboorhood just slightly out of the city center but close to the great nightlife/bar street called Broad Ripple.
The staff is very friendly, the facilities are just right (kitchen and laundry), and overall I had a great stay that really left me with nothing bad to say about this hostel.

My boyfriend and I stayed at the Indy Hostel for one night when we drove up to Indianapolis from Louisville for a concert. They were very accommodating and coordinated so we could check-in at midnight outside of the normal business hours.
We stayed in a private room that was clean and comfortable and great value for the price we paid. We were there in the winter and although the hallway and bathroom were pretty cold our room was warm.
We checked out the next morning, the staff was friendly and we had no issues.
Cute place and would definitely stay here again if back in Indy.

I stayed here when visiting Indianapolis for GenCon in 2013, and had a very pleasant visits. The price was dirt-cheap compared to downtown, the location was right near some nice bars and restaurants (and a bike path that leads right to the convention center!) and the place has a cheerful, homey atmosphere. The rooms are reasonably comfortable, and air-conditioned, although the room that I was in had bunks with metal frames that squeaked loudly whenever anyone moved around. The bathrooms are spacious and clean, although sometimes there was a bit of a wait. The common spaces are comfortable and roomy

Ironically, I'm reviewing from the Indy Hostel right now.
The Indy Hostel was a great place to stay. Initially, I had planned to stay for one night and one night only, as I was planning on going to Muncie. Then, life happened, and I had to stay in Indianapolis for three nights, not just one. I was looking for hotels closer to the city center, but all of them were $99+, so I was like, "Okay, I know it's six miles out from town, but why the heck not?"
I'm really glad I stayed. All of the hostel staff have been nothing but the absolute best, top-notch and professional.
