I had a wonderful experience with the Lighthouse Yoga studio when looking for a yoga space for my child who identifies as gender non-binary. They made my child (and me) feel welcomed and included. They also pushed themselves to think what a safe space for teens means today. I will be forever grateful to Tracy and to the class instructor.

I've been practicing yoga for over 10 years and I go to another studio that is closer to my house but I came here because Lucien D teaches here on Sunday mornings and that is the main reason for joining. I met Thomas many years back when he was just teaching and now he owns the studio. He is very nice to work with but I prefer a more vigorous work out without high impact and Lucien offers the perfect balance. I get a great workout without impacting my "old" joints. He helps my neck and low back pain issues as well.

I initially came to Catherine with chronic neck pain. Physical Therapy had run its course and I noticed that my pain was plateauing. During our introductory acupuncture session, I knew I was in good hands. Not only did Catherine take the time to fully understand the root of my neck issues, she ran through a list of any and all possible ailments that may or may not be connected to it, then proceeded to treat me holistically.
Throughout treatment, Catherine kept careful records and always followed up - asking what worked for me and tracking any improvements. She also put in extra due diligence

I've been practicing off and on for about 20 years, and yoga is an absolute must for our minds and bodies as we age. This is a great little studio. Rachel, Jancy, and Thomas are all kind, professional, knowledgeable, and supportive. They'll help you work around minor injuries -- reminding you to breathe calmly and practice mindfully -- with effort but without force. They'll also cue for more advanced poses if you know them and your body is ready for them. My only wish would be for a slightly larger studio to accommodate all of us weekend-yogis, changing areas rather than having to

I have attended since they opened their doors. Family owner and oriented, they offer a variety of classes, workshops and teacher training. The skill level of the teachers is consistently high. Their attitude of inclusiveness, creates an ambience of sensitivity and acceptance.
I highly recommend to anyone regardless of age or practice level.

I've been waiting, processing my latest review of the yoga portion of LH for a couple of weeks now. I have been going to Lighthouse pretty solidly for a year or so. I have been happy with the location, classes, schedule, teachers, and experiences until I had a recent and very uncomfortable and embarrassing and humiliating misogynistic experience with the owner Thomas.
I attended a class one afternoon when Thomas, who is normally the instructor of the class, was out of town. I came in a little bit late and rushed, to a new teacher I did not know, nor did the rest of the class seem to know

Lighthouse Yoga offers a variety of yoga classes in a comfortable space at prices comparable to other yoga studios in Evanston (see their easy-to-navigate website for details). They have mats, blocks, cushions, straps, blankets, and eye pillows available for use during class. I've taken classes with Jancy and Thomas, and both are great instructors. As classes are first come first serve, I recommend coming a 5-10 minutes earlier to get good spot, as the room tends to fill up.

I practice here 1-2x per week throughout the winter. The space was warm, community was sweet, and the practice was deep. I especially like Thomas's classes. I am an experienced yogini and always learned new ways to experience what I'd previously considered simple poses. Thomas gave cues to support our awareness of the most subtle movements and muscle engagement. I know my body better because of his classes and will definitely be back!

I moved to Evanston in late 2013 and was in a Goldilocks state of trying to find the yoga studio that was "just right." Then I literally happened upon Lighthouse one day while going for a walk around my new neighborhood.
Lighthouse is hands-down the best yoga studio I've ever experienced. At first, I stuck to Thomas's classes. But over time I got to know Jancy and Rachel as well. Each instructor has such a unique style and each brings me something different every time I attend their class. Jancy gets me moving on Saturday morning, Rachel pushes me to new depths in my body,

I followed Thomas here from his previous place of employment, so, there ya go.
Yoga teachers, like dentists and tattooists, once you find your guy/gal, ya stick with them.
As a martial artist, I've found yoga to be the perfect complement to the training I do. Keeps me flexible, reduces injuries, helps rehab those I do get, makes me a more grounded fighter, and keeps my chi tasty. You don't know what tasty chi is? Try some yoga. You'll get it.
Thomas, Jenny Kaufman, Patti Lupo and Rachel Coppola are the teachers I've had personal experience with, and they're all fantastic

There are lots of good yoga studios in the Chicagoland area, but Lighthouse really shines in a special way! There's no feeling of pressure or competition in class, so it's easy to participate without feeling self-conscious. Lots of support, from the instructors as well as other students. All you have to do is walk into their space, full of natural light, brick, wood, and you get a sense of relaxation. Classes vary in level, you can get one that really works up a sweat, or one that focuses more on gentle movement and stretching. Tracy Walsh and Thomas Zwergel and Catherine Zwergel have

The space itself is beautiful--open, warm, unassuming, and calm. I have attended mostly Thomas's classes, which are, without fail, the highlight of my week. I have also taken Rachel's class, and she is also a talented teacher--energetic, fun, and knowledgeable. If you're looking for a great, locally-owned yoga studio, this is your place.

This is the best kept yoga secret around. At the risk of it becoming everyone's favorite yoga studio I must share my incredible experiences. I have taken classes taught by Thomas, Cassie and Rachel as well as Julie (at another studio) and I have to say each and every one of them is amazing in their own way. I am SO grateful to have found such a wonderful place to practice yoga. As if the expertise and teaching styles aren't enough I must share a personal story. I attended Rachel's class this morning and near the end of class I re-injured my back. She was more than thoughtful
