Hothouse Yoga
We are Iowa City/Coralville's premier hot yoga studios and home to a collective group of teachers who have connected through the practice and teaching together for nearly 15 years! Our goal was to create a community that is welcoming, classes that are empowering and challenging and an opportunity to dig deep into the core of our purpose.

Our vision is not a perfect pose rather the quality of intention inside the pose. A celebration of life and its challenges, realizing that all of us know struggle. Every Instructor challenges a different aspect of your practice. As you explore the different classes and teachers, you learn to respect and listen to your body and recognize your process.
Services
We all crossed this threshold at one time and our experienced teachers are here to answer any questions, calm any fears and support you on your journey to health. Our schedule offers over 50 classes each week for all levels of students. The first step in any transformational experience is acceptance and surrender to the present moment.

Amazing people building an amazing community. The instructors are knowledgeable and friendly, motivating and inspirational. It’s a welcoming space that’s clean and just has a great vibe. I have loved every single class. If you are looking for your happy place, this is it.

I can guarantee this is one of the best studios in the Midwest (maybe the country but I haven’t been to many). Instructors have varied levels of experience however, every session I’ve been to has helped me both physically and mentally. Don’t live in IC anymore but I anyways make it a priority to come to HHY every time I come to town.

I have been in teacher training 2020 since October. Today I took my first class, at the Iowa City location with the amazing Maureen. I have to conclude, it was my favorite practice yet. Such an amazing release and great studio. The coziness of it makes me feel safe, and welcomed. The classmates were welcoming and engaging after class. If you haven't been, check them out!.

Hands down *the best* yoga studio in Iowa City... I came to HHY with absolutely no experience and the instructors were kind, patient, and truly amazing. I am so thankful for my time at HHY and had I not moved to another state, I would still be practicing there. Thank you.

I used to be a wrestler, football player, typical gym rat guy. My years playing sports resulted in a spinal injury. I tried many forms of treatment and therapy with little relief.
I used to talk down on yoga, a requirement as a football player haha. One day when I was having a lot of back pain, I finally went to Hot House with my girlfriend after months of her convincing and I've gone everyday since! I was humbled at how hard the routines were; I could hardly do half of it. Each time I leave the studio, my clothes look fresh out of the rinse cycle.
Many of the staff are very knowledgeable on

We're weeks deep into social distancing. Some of us haven't worn pants with buttons in as many days and don't even want to try them on to see if they still fit because... I mean, what if they don't?!

(We've all seen that meme of our summer body post coronavirus. Ya know, the one of a circle?! Ugh.)

Well. I personally have tried to keep my fitness routine up as a way of de-stressing. Because trust me... global pandemics make me anxious. Crashing economies make me fearful. Homeschooling my kiddos makes me nervous. (And on a lesser note... the fact that pool days and

I got a short-term pass while traveling and it was a very good experience. The room and instructors are great; the location and scheduling process are good; the locker-room is too cramped. Otherwise, very nice.

Positive, professional, and nice staff. Great place to start as a beginner. I would definitely recommend this yoga studio to friends. They have an awesome promotion, unlimited classes for 49$ Straight for new students. Only down fall is that classes are a bit expensive for non students.

Hothouse may be as good as yoga gets in Iowa City, but it's far from great. The instructors don't seem to be trained deeply enough to lead you through creative vinyasa sequences; they do the same flow, and that would be fine if it were explicitly Ashtanga-Vinyasa, where you are SUPPOSED to do the same flow every time -- this isn't, though. It's just sort of basic betch vinyasa. Also, they pack people in to an unacceptable extent. They need to have a cap on how many people can fit in this studio. Thursdays @ 4 I have been twice and honestly thought I might pass out from breathing

I love going to their community hot classes on Wednesday nights! You can't beat a $6 yoga class! The instructors are friendly and lead good classes that are able to accommodate all levels of yogis. The class usually is crowded so get there early!

Best yoga place in Iowa City, hands down. I've been taking various classes here for a while and have never had a bad experience. Hot is in the business' name for a reason, prepare to sweat a lot, because that's kinda the point. But if you're looking to relax a bit, I couldn't recommend a restorative class more, like their yin yoga class, always a great experience. 5 stars.

This is my favorite yoga studio, hands down, anywhere.

I'm from the area and I used to go occasionally when I was a college student, but I moved away. I would come back sporadically, maybe once or twice a year, and everybody who worked here still remembered my name.

The fact that they always address me by name as soon as I walked into the studio made this my go to place when I moved back to the area. The teachers are absolutely amazing and they have fostered a beautiful community centered around happy bodies and happy minds. I also love the way they do the heat here, it's not a dry

Unfortunately, my review will be fairly in line with the other two reviews however, my key takeaway is that this business needs some serious ventillation work. I've sampled several hot pilates and yoga joints and never have I experienced one that was so humid and mildew-y rather than dry and hot. I would call Humid Yoga and not Hot Yoga. The towels we rented also smelled of mildew. I'm curious if they have a dehumidifier in use and mold issues? : /
The location is fantastic - right around the corner from the Pedestrian Mall and their intro pack of an unlimited month for $49 is really reasonable

Hot House Yoga was the first studio that I finally felt comfortable practicing in after having several un-savory experience at other studios. My favorite instructor is Lindsey M. She makes me feel so at home and there is never any pressure to push myself where my body isn't ready to go. I really appreciate the location, the options and the general vybe of it all. Hot Yoga can really vary from studio to studio, even from class to class. Its unfortunate that some reviews have not enjoyed the environment as well as they thought they would--take their feedback with a grain as salt--I love the

I love the downtown location of this studio. There's easy access to the Old Capitol Parking Ramp, and it's just off the Ped Mall. A long time coming, I finally stopped into HotHouse Yoga for a Pilates class.

Upon first walking into the studio, the smell of musty locker room hit me. As it turns out, they use a very humid heat, so much that the mirrors were fogging up. This had me checking the ceiling for mildew growth, thankfully I didn't see any, but through all of the deep cleansing breaths of our pilates workout, I had a hard time feeling as though I was truly breathing clean

The other review is pretty spot on. I'm visiting from Austin, tx & was looking for a studio close to my hotel. The Pilates class I took was good, but I've never been to a yoga studio in the world where I was treated so coldly & with indifference. Definitely not what I would expect in Iowa

The studio is small, but it's clean and smells nice. I'm not totally sold on the hot yoga concept, but I do like the classes. There are lots of them, especially in the evenings and weekends - very helpful to be able to fit a workout into your schedule. It's usually pretty easy to get a space if you're willing to squeeze in too.

Its a pretty studio, but very small. You can barely turn around in the locker room. Its good to know what classes are popular and avoid them. Mats get as close as an inch apart, which really hinders your practice.
Their technology needs work too. The website is down half the time, but class times rarely change. So just get to know the schedule. Instructors are all really good and there consistent practice. One or two have really poor social skills, so dont be put off when you dont get a smile or greeting when you come in the door, its not you; and most instructors are sociable.
I enjoy going there
