Get ready for ballzy transitions, limitless self-exploration, dismantled barriers, and just a doggone good time. Attend one of Megan's classes or trainings, and you'll feel supported, accepted, challenged, and inspired. Megan brings a fresh and positive perspective to yoga in Iowa City. Equipped with a passion for helping and a knack for recognizing and emboldening others' strengths, she lives by the mantra that "people do as well as they can."
She provides tools needed for people to do and be better, happier, and healthier and her fervor for no judgment builds a laid-back experience in which YOU feel powerful. Megan Robertson was a yoga practitioner for years, silently yearning to be a yoga teacher. But barriers inherent in the student/teacher relationship, combined with a distorted sense of what "yogic" really is, kept her from believing she even COULD become a teacher.

We are a team of high-vibing, fiery, caring, and kick-booty humans and we are so freaking excited to get to know you! Our intention with Muddy Feet Yoga is to bring more people to yoga by eliminating the intimidating stigma about what yoga is or isn't. We teach to all bodies, our specialty being those needing a push to break down walls that keep them from living their best life.
We encourage students to bring their own yoga mat; however, loaner mats and large towels are available to rent for $1 each. Arrive a few minutes prior to the start of class to allow plenty of time to check-in and get settled. New Students should arrive 10-15 minutes early to fill out some paperwork (you may print our Muddy Feet Yoga Waiver ahead of time or fill out at the studio) and explore the studio.
All classes are all levels. You may not be able to "keep up" with those around you at certain classes, but that's not really the point! Remember to move, breathe, and sweat, and everything will come in due time. We always say, it's not like rock-climbing where, if you have to stop and rest, you fall to your death.

I absolutely cannot say enough about the wonderful people at this studio and the amazing classes they offer. I have been coming to Muddy Feet for a little over 6 months and I wish I would've discovered it sooner. While the training/instructors are phenomenal and I feel like I am getting one heck of a workout (that is also fun), the thing that has kept me coming back to the studio the MOST is the brilliant atmosphere and community of people here. Megan, Emily and everyone else here have built a great place to call a "yoga home".

This is the only yoga studio in town that I will come back to again and again. The instructors are wonderful. The owners Megan, Emily and Jennifer have created a lovely environment for community and learning. They also have beautiful bathrooms - it's like a spa. They've curated inspiring and energetic music playlists.
I completed Muddy Feet’s 200HR YTT in May ‘19. It was SO POWERFUL. This is THE studio if you want to become an AMAZING yoga teacher, gift yourself hardcore SELF CARE and make life long FRIENDSHIPS.

Best yoga workout ever! The teacher and students were so encouraging and welcoming. The studio is beautiful and they offer everything you need to get through the class if you forgot something. The workout was intense, beyond satisfying and exceeded all expectations I had. If you haven't tried a class you shouldn't put it off anymore. Just beware you just might become addicted to muddy feet yoga. But is that a bad thing? Best yoga studio hands down!

I completed my 200 hour yoga teacher training with Muddy Feet Yoga in December of 2017. It was a great experience from start to finish. I got plenty of practice teaching during the training. I was prepared and confident to begin teaching a class only a couple of weeks following completion of training. Many of my students are very surprised to hear that I just completed my teacher training. Megan's hands on approach to yoga teacher training provided me with the skills, ability, and confidence to be the best yoga teacher I can be.

Muddy Feet Yoga Teacher training was amazing! Megan is a supportive and empowering teacher that pushes you to test your own limits and preconceptions and helps you find your inner teacher and learn on and off the mat. I initially took training to deepen my own yoga practice, but have 'graduated' with a new found love of teaching others yoga. Would completely recommend MFY to anyone who wants to teach yoga to others or just deepen your own practice and have an amazing experience on the journey!

Teacher training with Megan was a true blast, with so many successes and surprises along the way. I didn't know if was "ready" for yoga teacher training, and Megan is so empowering that my worries melted away. Megan helped me incorporate and prioritize yoga in my life. She taught us anatomy and how to teach safely. She taught us how to find joy & laugh in teaching. I would recommend this teacher training to any future yoga teacher who wants to change the world, or even simply looking to deepen their own yoga practice.
