My partner and I have lived here for one month and it is the worst apartment we have ever rented. Before we moved in the apartment was not cleaned or serviced. When we moved in we came to an apartment that was filthy with a broken bathroom sink that barely runs water, 2 nonworking fire alarms, the walls had been touched up/painted/fixed, there was a smashed bug on one of the walls, the shower rod was rusted, no hot water, the dishwasher was literally falling out of the wall and had hair in it and a pink residue, the bathtub paint was chipping off, the fridge broke 2 days after move-in, the closet

The absolute worst possible property management company I've ever had to deal with. The apartment itself was built poorly and management had never responded in a timely manner. They deducted money out of our security deposit and refused to explain the charges let alone list any of the charges we incurred. Every single person from management, to accounting, to the actual agents of the building was extremely unprofessional. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY.

Horrible experience. We lost so much money.
The unit we rented, ICON had just purchased with the expectation of gutting the building. But of course, they didn’t tell us this when we rented the unit. We were there for only 1 year, and they kicked everyone else out in the building. They filled the building while they pulled permits.
NOTHING WAS FIXED. We didn’t have hot water for the entire time. The boiler needed to be replaced a decade ago, but they didn’t want to put a new one in because in a year, they would be gutting everything.
There were mice and cockroaches that they didn’t deal

Leaving an excellent review here. We rented with Icon for over 5 years, between two apartments. Like every NYC apartment there were issues but generally Icon was responsive. They worked with us always and we’re helpful & professional. Zero apartment rentals are perfect but I felt compelled to leave a 5 star review here because I have read other reviews on here for Icon that are pretty poor (and every experience is different for sure) but ours was solid. Shout out to you guys at Icon.

Rented with them for a year and all interactions have been as expected. Was the rent affordable? No. Did they go above and beyond to satisfy all needs? No. However, there was no scammy behavior nor nickel-and-diming on the deposit. You pay rent, you get a place to live, end of transaction. But isn't that all you really want from a rental management company?

Very greedy and sneaky company. Do not rent from these guys. They tried to keep my security deposit just because I hung up a TV on my wall. I was a $100 fix to fill in the small holes used for the TV, and they tried to keep $1000 saying it was for damages. This is after the apartment had bugs and leaks for months without them fixing it. STAY AWAY!

DO NOT BELIEVE THE FALSE REVIEWS POSTED BY PEOPLE THAT WORK FOR THEM. Just Google Icon Reality and the $500K they settled with the NYC Attorney General and you will get a small taste of who they really are as a company.
They will claim rooftops being built only to never to be even have a permit to do so.
Their ‘refurbished’ apartment are done with terrible construction often without permits.
Their units fall apart due to shoddy/cheap work. I have lived in one of their ‘penthouse’ units only to see people lied to, literally 100% turnover due to false advertising and a huge increase in

I cannot say enough about how bad my experience has been with Icon Realty. I have lived in numerous cities and apartments and have never been treated as badly as Icon. From deception of what they promise to property managers that haven't been to your building in years or answer your calls.
Damage to property and harassment are things you have to look forward to. Just google their settlement with the NY attorney general and you will see what you're in for as a tenant.
They will bate you with a deal and promises of work needed to be completed but will not fulfill.

The most horrific experience of renting an apartment (342 East 55th building). The day before we moved in, I came to the apartment to look at it to see if it had been cleaned. It hadn't. There were cobwebs, the kitchen cabinets had sticky stains that weren't cleaned out, parts of the kitchen laminate was already stripping off and the hallway ceiling lights were flickering which was an issue due to the electrical wiring. When a super came to change one of the lights in the house in the living room, they left the bulbs and wires exposed and a nail on the floor. The toilets were constantly

Living in one of their buildings was insane, and I really did have low expectations renting in NYC. Even though no one was living in my unit for months before I moved in, necessary repairs were not made (cabinets were broken/falling off, oven did not work, etc.) until I moved in and had to request. There was problem after problem, including a plumbing issue and a non-working toilet for almost 2 weeks. It seemed every month there would be a new issue and a long waiting period to fix. I wouldn't say management was absolutely awful to work with, but just the principle of needing so many repairs

Icon is the WORST management company I have ever dealt with. Our building was infested with mice, we caught 7 in our tiny apartment and confirmed with multiple other tenants that they also had problems. They were arrogant, rude and refused to acknowledge the problem. Apartments are garbage and management is horrific. Do not rent from Icon.

This is a review based on my experiences in dealing with select people I dealt with at Icon managment.
Ryan who's is charge of leasing dosen't act like a robot and gives you automated answers. He responds quickly lets me vent and took care of our legit issues. Would definitely continue to business with him.
Greg is the best. He supervisors construction, manages all building issues and was super friendly, professional and all around a great guy.
Also our super Arnold always answers the phone and comes by quickly when needed.
The buildings of Icon are kept immaculate. Yes people you

Icon was our first property management company in NYC and they were great from signing the lease to time we moved out 1 year later. We lived at 36 linden st in brooklyn in a beautifully gut renovated 2bed 1 bath apt. They do an amazing job with reno, even if you do pay for it in rent. They were super accommodating with us eventhough we were trying to lease sight unseen (video walkthough) from texas with basically no income and guarantors who also lived in Texas. The super, Keith was prob one of the best part of the complex. Great, nice, and caring super. We personally moved out and are no longer

Can I give zero stars to these CROOKS??? Literally the worst experience I've ever had living anywhere (and I've lived in a lot of buildings). Our "renovated" apartment had a plethora of problems from day 1. We had no door on our shower for a solid 2 months, and the bathroom flooded every time someone took a shower. Our toilet clogged and broke down every other day. For the first month we couldn't get hot water as the handle was installed improperly.
The HVAC system was installed incorrectly and broke a month into living in the unit. They also shut it off for a solid 6

If I could give these people negative stars I would. I have reviewed them before but somehow they have managed to remove the reviews. I have lived in an Icon Manager building for one year and it has been the absolute worst experience I have had in the 10 years I've lived in NYC. My only relief is that I am moving in a week. First of all our bikes were stolen from a "secure" bike storage room within the building. About 10 bikes were stolen. Icon never acknowledged this, didn't return phone calls and didn't respond to my emails asking for updates. We had renters insurance
