Walls have no sound proofing - hear everything your neighbors do. We get emails every other day from management threatening to fine us for petty stuff. Building doesn't allow you to use the garbage rooms or trash chutes - they want you to use a "Valet" trash service aka take trash out only when it's convenient for them - not for you. WHAT? If you use the garbage room - pay $50 fine. Maintainence is great. High turnover - good staff have all left because the Manager Jaqueline is a horrid Karen. STOP SENDING US E-MAILS ABOUT GARBAGE. WE WILL THROW OUT OUR GARBAGE WHEN WE WANT BECAUSE IT'S YOUR RESPNSIBILITY

If you are considering this apartment, stay away from this place for your own benefit. This apartment has many downsides including the terrible acoustics. You can hear neighbors' conversation, next door TV. etc so clearly. I understand those down sides considering the relatively low rent.
What really bothered me happened after my lease.
They penalized me for the damage and stain that have been there even before my lease. I couldn't even use the dish washer while my stay there as it's been broken even before my stay there. When I told them I'm not responsible for any damage/stain especially when

I've lived at Modera Lofts for almost a year now and I can say that this is one of the coolest apartment buildings I have ever had the chance of living in.
The staff is incredibly respectful and responsive and the building is downright beautiful; I don't ever want to leave! The community manager, Jacquelyn, is the BEST!

Lived at Modera for a year. Building public spaces are incredibly clean and well maintained. The staff is friendly and the apartments themselves are great. High ceilings make everything feel better!
The biggest factor for my 5 star review is the incredible responsiveness to any maintenance issue. Everything was followed up same day or the next day. It is incredibly reassuring. I don’t feel like I’ll be having to chase down maintenance or send a bunch of emails to try to get help.

Modera Lofts is one of kind! Its luxury feel and look sets it apart from the other buildings in JC. The building is managed very well and the amenities are great.. The rooftop lounge has some of the best views of JC and NYC. The apartments have plenty of space which make it a great value in a great location.

Modera lofts is truly a one of a kind building in Jersey City! The building is fantastically managed and they are very accommodating and flexible with various needs that may come up. The apartments are a truly incredible value for the NYC area because they offer significantly more space than any other comparable building in Brooklyn or Manhattan. I can't recommend Modera lofts enough!

The valet you must use - scratched the entire passenger side of my car - didn't tell me and now won't accept any responsibility... (I got into the car on drivers side - so I didn't see the passenger side!) Of course, when you call the manager of the apartment complex - they won't help either. "Not their responsibility" - no such thing as customer service here - terrible - and now I have to pay to fix the car! And park again tonight!
It is also absolutely incredible that with the rent we pay - the management can't fix the elevator. It's been down for weeks

Really great experience so far with the Modera and the staff! Moving is always very stressful and anxiety filled, but we were lucky enough to meet Jacquelyn initially, and the care and attention she gave us really shone through. She listened to our specific needs and showed genuine care for us - not just as prospective tenants - but as fellow humans. She really went the extra mile to make us feel comfortable with our move and exhibited exceptional warmth and kindness. Jacquelyn really sealed the deal for us, and made us feel welcome & at home before we even signed a lease.

We moved in at the beginning of the COVID crisis. Despite the difficulty during these times, the staff has never failed to be attentive to the residents' needs. When our microwave and main living room light stopped working, the maintenance team came in and fixed them as soon as confinement restrictions were lifted. We were impressed by how prompt they were and by the quality of their work. It's hard to find and keep such quality staff, but the management has done an excellent job!

This staff had kids! One woman had 5 kids!!!
Right after this public post on Yelp, the entire concierge every single person on it has been replaced overnight. Without a single communication until the day it was done.
A letter was sent by Jacquelyn asking us to welcome new staff!
Epic example of wrong person in command abusing power. It's scary to see this.
It's the mean kid at the park turned 45 with a dog and a manager name tag....

I wanted to look at apartments but the leasing office lady stated to call and schedule appointment. While the front desk was scheduling the appointment, he reports that I should call back in an hour to make an appointment. Called back and now they are refusing to make any appointments for tours. Definitely poor customer service. I will not lease any apartments with them. For the price they charge per month, I don't think it is worth it.

Incompetent and brainless staff. Some resident left a couch near my door and I got an email from modera claiming I'm using the loading docks without permission. And because of that I needed to pay for overtime. Completely ridiculous. Thank god I checked out of the garage and have a Tesla that tracks my location. I was really upset they would start baseless accusations. Building is filled with cameras check those next time to see who is actually at fault

I have lived at the Modera Lofts since the end of 2017 and really love it here. As a local realtor I can honestly say that there's really no place like it in Jersey City.
The concierge and management company are wonderful and really make it feel like home. The maintenance team is also spectacular and if there is ever any maintenance problems,… they are quick to respond within a couple of hours.
I use almost all of the amenities offered here including the gym, yoga room, conference rooms, bike storage, multiple lounge areas and best of all the amazing rooftop!

Great place to live in. The concierge ( lead by Val) and maintenance (lead by Drago) are out of this world. The leasing office ( Catherine and Amanda) are fantastic and very pleasant to deal with. The Apartments are upscale with high ceiling . If you moving from the city to Jersey city, i would recommend checking this place first.
Funally, If it's not because of my work, I would've stayed here.

I just moved into Modera in January and it has been a dream- the team here is wonderful, I love the industrial feel of the building and I can't wait for it to get warmer to be able to use the rooftop more!
I worked with Amanda to get my apartment and she was so helpful! I knew after my first meeting with her I would end up living here! I live in a studio and adore it!
Oh also- the maintenance team is amazing... they have already helped me with my fan, lights, and an embarrassing clogged toilet
And my puppy Willow loves living here as well!

I recently moved out of state after a year in Modera. I'll stick with my four-star review. Some final thoughts:
1) The cell phone reception in the building is absolutely atrocious. Unless you're standing next to a window, you'll be unable to hear anything on the phone. There might be some "cell signal booster" you can buy, but still, this is extremely frustrating. It sucks laying in bed and having to get out of bed just to be able to answer the phone.
2) The staff is very friendly.
3) The roof top is fun. The other residents are friendly.
4) The lighting in the apartments

Modera Lofts is terrible, please stay away. we moved in back in May of 2016. so many issues with the unit and building at large. here is a list, i warn you its long.

The amenities (and the concierge staff - they are always super friendly and helpful, but I think they are definitely overworked) here are 5 stars. I wish management put the same thought into the apartments as they did with the amenities.
From my apartment, I can hear my neighbors coughing, sneezing, laughing, and talking on the phone. When there… are parties (like right now) it sounds like the music and talking is in my apartment.
