We haven’t actually stayed here, but I want to give 5 stars for excellent customer service! We booked a trip during/after the big snow storm that hit western WA/OR and had to cancel day-of. Bobbi and Cory were super helpful, friendly, and understanding, and we received refunds without dispute, despite it being VERY last minute. We did not expect that, so we’re super grateful. Can’t wait to book again in the future and recommend this hotel to everyone who needs a place to stay in Hood River!

DIRT, DANGER AND DEATH: Your stay will begin with the information that for $10 a day you can park in a lot down a steep hill, by the railroad tracks, hidden by trees and brush, and unlighted, a perfect spot for everything from car prowlers to serial killers. There is a huge dead animal head in the lobby and more heads over the staircases. When the elevator starts it makes a terrifying crashing sound. I see that other reviews mention the elevator having been "out of service" a number of times and that it was installed in 1961.

Staff responded with kindness and consideration when a crisis interrupted my stay. My husband had to be airlifted to Portland for a medical event. The front desk staff could not have been more helpful to get me checked out and even loaded my car for me. The room was beautiful - sad not to spend the night. Best of all - my husband is recovering!

Amazing hotel - gorgeous rooms and lobby (not to mention that fabulous vintage elevator!!) but most excellent of all were the people!! Everyone was so helpful and welcoming especially Bobbi who went above and beyond to make our stay so very special and just wonderful - she is 10 stars out of 5!!! Really loved our stay at the enchanting Hood River Hotel and Bobbi and all the staff! My daughter, Mikha and I can't wait to return! (: xoxo

Oh my gosh, 5 stars! Bobbi took amazing care of us! We were a last minute reservation after a long day of driving and she helped us find late dinner options, was so welcoming to us and our dogs. She even made a little gift bag for our pups! Thanks so much! We will be back for sure next time we’re in Hood River!

Stayed here for our anniversary last weekend. Great central location (and you absolutely have to eat breakfast at Broder Øst) connected to the hotel. Definitely an older hotel (it's been around since 1911) so the bathrooms and rooms definitely reflect that. The staff is great though, and does an excellent job with added amenities that make your stay comfortable and relaxing. Would definitely visit again in the future!

The main reason to stay at this hotel is LOCATION LOCATION LOCATION. It's simply wonderful being able to roll out of bed and be right in the thick of everything. That being said, we travel quite a bit and have stayed in a wide variety of hotels and these rooms were absolutely not worth the price we paid. We had friends stay up the road (within walking distance) at airbnbs that were much nicer. The first room we were given had so little space we couldn't fit a pack and play for our infant. The front desk staff was great and was able to re-home us in another slightly larger room. In terms of the

When in Hood River, it doesn't get much better than this retro-cool, vintage-vivacious down-town LO-CATED hip hangout. The front desk welcomed us like royalty and the view from the Columbia River Suite was stunning with a front row seat of Kite and Windsurfing action and river and WA hillside views. Watching the kiters and boarders is a kick and beckoned you outside and into action. Easy walk from downtown to the waterfront and all of the town's breweries certainly quenched our collective thirsts. Did I mention, retro-cool?!?....there was a fully functioning record-player and a collection

Quality beverages & snacks available
Red & white wine for purchase conveniently located in room
Ear plugs included
Walking distance to coffee & restaurants
Cons: creepy animal heads on the wall

I stayed here once, admittedly a while ago.
It was an spontaneous weekend full of fun. Our room had a view overlooking the Pietros parking lot.
The room was small-ish, but had everything we needed, and the bed was very comfortable. Almost everything we needed outside the hotel was within walking distance and parking was not hard to find.
Although the hotel is old, it seems nicely well kept. Service was very accommodating.
My memories of Hood River Hotel are among my fondest and I highly recommend checking it out for a weekend getaway.

I wish I could give more than 5 stars! This was a last minute stay-cation (of sorts) and it was perfect. The hotel staff was incredibly friendly and the room was cozy and just as I had imagined. My fiancé and I looked into the event space downstairs and we want to have our reception there! Highly recommend this hotel.

This is my second time visiting and it has been a wonderful experience so far. Carlos greeted us upon our arrival and provided us with such a warm welcome and with so many local recommendations. We got set up with some wine and seltzer's and have had a very fun and covid appropriate first night in Hood River.

Very very overpriced! Rooms are soooo tiny! Don't stay here if you like to have your stuff organized, be able to move around freely, watch tv, have good lighting or see yourself in a mirror!
The rooms are sooooo tiny! The pictures they have posted on hotels.com make the rooms seem decent sized & luxurious. THIS IS FALSE ADVERTISING! We originally were booked into room 318 -- no closet, barely any room to walk around the bed, hair on the counters & the sink for the bathroom was in the main room. It was extremely claustrophobic.
Requested a new room (for $50 more you can stay in

Pros:
Free coffee and tea (in the morning - runs out quickly)
Very walkable, unbeatable location
Lovely lobby
Kind staff, so helpful and pleasant
Good price considering the location
Cons:
Yikes - need new cleaning staff.
Similar experience to prior guests - I was hoping they'd be wrong - lots of hair, dirt, etc. upon arrival. Looked like the bed had been made but not a single thing else cleaned. The mini-oven in the kitchen was covered in crumbs, it looked like someone had just cooked there. We asked to have it recleaned but the cleaning staff was "gone for the day" at 3pm.

First time staying for a date night with my husband. Very cute hotel room, Naked Winery themed. Bathroom a tad small but worked for only one night. One suggestion though is the mattress pad on the bed was one of those waterproof ones which made my night of sleep awful. I felt like I was a sweating two year old sleeping on this bed. Those mattress pads definitely need to be changed out. Other than that, we really enjoyed our stay and we will be back!!

Good location in town but not good hotel unfortunately. Staff seemed overwhelmed working alone at check in, kept removing face mask to breathe. Parking is a joke, to pay to park in a lot at bottom of hill near railroad looked sketchy didnt trust leaving our car there un monitored, then hiking up the steep hill with luggage was a pain, the one loading zone spot was taken with a wedding party group. The stairs were filthy full of dog and human hair in much need of cleaning! The hallway looked like you were entering a prison cell. Our room was literally tilted, the flooring was caving in so at night

The most unique little getaway! Everywhere you look there's something cool to see. Great service. The parking lot is down the road by a railroad track so I'd suggest unloading your bags at the front door or you'll have to drag everything up a hill like we did. Hauling your luggage up the floors is a little tight if you're taking the elevator since it's an old school kind of elevator. Really fun though! The only weird thing is as soon as we were in our room my husband and I both felt really congested all night into the next morning and it went away as soon as we left the

I feel bad for my hubby. He wanted to stay at one of the 2 places we have stayed at before that were less money than this one and offered more, but the pictures for this place are so cute that I love boutique or historical hotels so I talked him into this one-HUGE MISTAKE :-/....Upon check in it was a ghost town for awhile, but when the guy came to counter he was super friendly! The place is really cute and appealing to your senses if you're into architecture, decor, and such. We didn't get to explore the hotel bec our room was right by the desk. Room 104. The hood river hotel is our go to place in Hood River. There is no better base camp for setting up activities in Hood River. It's centrally located walking distance to most bars and restaurants. It has a great view of the river and it's right downtown. The people that run it are fantastic if you get a chance ask for Jedi.He like all the other people that work there will make your experience warm and memorable. So don't go to great destinations and stay in a chain hotel.Check out the Hood River Hotel you won't be disappointed.

Surprisingly nice hotel with the warmest greets upon checking in, hotel is very well maintained and in excellent shape. I particularly enjoy the elevator, it's the best shape I've ever seen from the 6/70's still working as of its new. I suspect the wall furnace is still in the working condition but not complied with law to operates with gas in every room. Decorations are well prepare and feel like home. Liquid soup, shampoo uses superior fair trade brand not like typical quantity inn type make ur skin crack, feel very refreshing after each showers! Staffs are almost the most friendly

My wife and I decided to have a three-day weekend getaway in Hood River and there was an excellent deal at this hotel (three nights for the price of two.) After taxes and the room price, it came out to be a little over $100 a night, which was definitely worth it. However, if I paid full price, I'd be a bit harsher in my grading (my star rating here is what my "true" grade is. I'd say for this particular trip it's four stars.)
The best part of this hotel is its location. It is located in Downtown Hood River; adjacent to many great bars, restaurants, wine tasting rooms

The only place to stay in Hood River. This historic hotel is very charming. The accommodations are very comfortable and impeccably clean and the staff is friendly and accommodating. We're staying here now! Having just eaten a giant breakfast at Bette's Place, I couldn't wait to get back to the room and sprawl out on the comfy bed and lush duvet. As I relax, looking out at the Columbia River, I realize, "this is good."
Hood River is a great place to chill, and the Hood River Hotel is the place to stay.

A destination wedding brought us to this northern Oregon town and hotel. Like others have stated, there is a 3-night minimum stay on the weekend, so we basically paid for an extra night we didn't need as we were en route from Maui. September weekend rates were $160 - $186/night not including taxes.

I will not get this lucky again.
My husband decided to surprise me on our anniversary and got us a room. At first we were planning on taking our dog and my husband told them that put us down as a maybe. He got a call asking if we had decided to take the doggy and secretly asked me and I told him no. When we got there we were upgraded to the largest room/suite in the hotel. It was amazing! Apparently another guest wanted to bring their dog so they got our original room. It was so great! We still got charged for the regular rate.
We had a full living room, extra bedrooms, full kitchen. Goodness
