"I've been going consistently for the past 8months and the service is hit or miss depending on the day. I am always waiting over 30min for my set appointment which feels extremely disrespectful of my time. The last two sets of acrylic nails felt very rushed and the quality from nail to nail is absolutely lacking. If I am going to wait an exorbitant amount of time, they might as well be worth it.
Positives of the place: very clean, employees are enthusiastic and friendly, and depending on the time of day the wine

Not only is this the place to go to get a beautiful service, but you truly feel the care they put into your experience there. Nim is not only a warm, kind person but he also puts so much love into his craft! Every week I am excited to get my acrylics filled. I truly can't recommend this place enough, they deserve all the business they get.

I don't live in Portland full-time but when I'm in town the first thing I do is get an appointment at REX for a mani-pedi! All of the staff is amazing! It's a very peaceful and calming experience....My husband fell asleep during the 'hot rocks massage' part of his pedicure! (Plus, his feet have never looked or felt better) I'm a fan and if you want to relax and feel better, I recommend a visit!

Worst fullset I've ever received. The place is beautiful but not worth it. The man who did mine was sooo nice so I didn't want to write a review, I feel badly but I have been getting my nails done for years and never experienced something so badly.
First, my appt was at 4:30 and they took me back at 4:55. I left at 6:30!!!!! I also asked for a brow waxing and didn't get that nor did I want to wait any longer.
The man was the only one answering the phones and front door and there were at least 6 other employees there some with no guests. At one point he left for 10 min to help

Chill place, bright & pretty. Doesnt smell like polish. Probably due to the air flow from the open garage door, which looks cool too. Finally got to have a drink at a nail place, which have not been offered at other places. Massage chair couldve had higher pressure. And easier communication with nail tech, but overall it was great.

I love this shop!!!!! I needed an emergency fix the owner(whos amazing) got me right in. I drive from Salem to get my nails done here.The man knows his stuff and loves what he does, I am hooked. My nails never lift anymore or break the prices are great he loves his clients and his work...All his employees are kind and so good too.

Everyone working at rex nails was very polite and helpful. I brought my grandmother with me and she has memory issues, the employees were so kind to her and helped tremendously. When I went to go grab the car- the employees stayed with her without me even asking. I appreciated this so much. And on top of the amazing customer service- our nails turned out great! They are keeping the salon very clean and are taking lots of precautions for COVID. I will definitely be going back.

I live right by this place, and I WANT it to be a great nail spot so badly because of the convenience. I've gone several times, and have been disappointed with my nails each time. I keep going back thinking maybe this time... however, my most recent visit will unfortunately be my last (see picture). They just do not do a good job on my nails.
With that said, I will still give 3 stars because the guy who runs the place is very friendly and the spa itself is beautiful.

Had been getting mani/pedis at this salon since April with great customer service but today was the exception. I had my appointment @ 11:30am for just a manicure. After waiting for 45 minutes, I walked out. Was not offered something to drink like all the other times. Was not acknowledged. Would have appreciated if someone at least took the time to give me updates on waiting time but nothing. Now I need to find another nail salon in the Portland downtown area.

By the second day my French pedicure was chipping. By the third day my French manicure started chipping terribly. I was so bummed. Our appointment felt very rushed. The technicians never asked about how I'd like my nails shaped. I wonder if it was because we just wanted basic manicure/pedicures- no shellac or gel or anything. My friend and I received the same services but she had a hand and foot massages and lotion applied, I did not.

I had a great experience with Nim on Friday! He helped me fix a broken nail on my pinky with an acrylic overlay, which had me worried! At first, I asked for ombré SNS powder dip. I was indecisive in my idea / color selection, and he was patient and helpful in creating the concept. I love my final results! I asked to file down the powder app more thinly around the nail bed, and he paid close attention to do so, and give me a great final result!
There was no cuticle trim or hand massage. I find no hand massage typical (in Denver), no cuticle attention atypical. That's why I give it four stars

By process I mean the way they rush to fit in other clients that just walk in, versus taking the time to make sure my nails are perfect. Every time I had gone I sacrificed having my nails perfect for the environment and the glamorous feel of the salon.

The same clean and beautiful salon with wonderfully nice people, but some of the newbies need to be trained and have more attention to detail.
Had a pedi and my nail cuticles trimmed and the cuticle trim was not complete. The pedi had little to no massage and not enough exfoliation.
This is rare for this location and I know they will correct it because they-have a wonderful manager.
