Grace Preschool is located in the Homeland/ Roland Park area of Baltimore. We are an outreach program of the Grace United Methodist Church offering an excellent educational program to the community. Grace is a traditional preschool program with classes for children two years of age through Kindergarten. We are excited to offer extended hours to meet the needs of working families!

Grace Preschool, founded in 1961, serves the Roland Park and Homeland communities and beyond by providing an excellent early learning program in an inviting and active environment. The intimate atmosphere offers a gentle introduction to school while maintaining high educational standards. Our school faculty is composed of highly qualified professionals including specialists in art, music, science, and gym.
At Grace, we believe that every child has the right to a safe and secure childhood. Having the confidence that they are being well cared for allows children to push their limits and explore their capabilities. Although each child has a different level of comfort, as they begin to explore their environment through social interactions, play, and learning, we ensure that all children at Grace feel cherished and protected.
All of our classrooms provide a text-rich environment to promote literacy and language development. Starting with our very youngest students, we encourage a love of reading and storytelling. We help develop early literacy skills through reading stories together, dramatic play, rhymes, and singing. As our children grow, we introduce letter recognition and phonetics organically through one on one interactions and group work.
At Grace, we believe that children learn best through hands-on projects. Our Twos start their math and science journey by learning about the seasons and basic counting skills. Every child sits down with the teacher to complete a project, one on one, every day, creating an ideal opportunity to introduce number skills and individualize your child's learning experience.
Kindergarten at Grace preschool is pretty special! We believe that our program accomplishes two things; we provide children with a year of growth and maturity with regard to academic and social/emotional development before entering into an independent school setting where children are often at the older end of the age spectrum, and we also prepare children entering First Grade in local public schools.

I now have my third child at Grace Preschool and he loves his second home. From the minute you walk in, you and your children are embraced by the director and the teachers as if they were their own! The facilities are top notch, bright, sunny, clean and comfortable. Fantastic science program, art, playroom, playground, and music, plus extended hours options. From two's through kindergarten! I can't imagine sending my kids anywhere else.

My daughter attends Grace and we love it. It's a warm, loving, cozy, and friendly preschool that emphasizes fun learning (they also offer kindergarten). I can't recommend it enough. Grace has a January 2's program and my son (who has a fall birthday) will start this program next year (allowing him to get a head-start instead of waiting until the following fall to enroll in a 2's class). Definitely contact their director, Barbara (e-mail on website), to set up a visit to Grace if you're looking into preschools in the northern Baltimore area. Another thing I'll add is that they are very flexible
