My honest opinion about Mimi’s is that they charge too much for the quality of service they provide.
I asked for a gel mani and pedi so I knew I was going in spending some money. While I was getting my feet done, another nail tech started on my mani and used a spray bottle instead of soaking my nails in water. She was also really rough on my cuticles.
My nails came out pretty, but I did notice come dry nail polish on the side of my nails and around the cuticles at the end of the session. I expected it to be perfect for what they changed me.

This was the WORST powder manicure i've ever received. they did not brush off the powder, causing it to harden unevenly and clumpy and they were trying to convince me to leave it that way. i was so shocked and asked them to remove what they did. my cuticles were ripped to shreds and i left the salon after 2 hours looking like my nails went through a hacksaw. best part is the owner giggled and said not a lot of people get powder gel. that's just simply not true especially in manhattan. after i expressed how upset i was she had the nerve to ask if i wanted a top coat. see reference photo

I have been several times to Mimi Nail & Spa and ALWAYS leave beyond satisfied. Today was no exception. Always a warm greeting and after a delicious Pedicure I also received a nice neck rub. Once you try Mimi's you won't want to go anywhere else! Thank you!!

I explained to them what filling I wanted - including gel nail polish. They said the price was $ 75 and at the end of the work they added another $ 43 for the application of the gel nail polish, first of all deceiving a customer. I arrived with very long nails in less than a week I had 2 nails broken, in addition I had to ask her to fix me every time during sanding due to asymmetry. Lack of professionalism, low level, expensive price and not worth the money.

I have been coming to Mimi's since I was a little girl, so for almost 20 years now! You always get the best nails and the best service! I always leave happy with my nails! And the massages are always nice to add on while your nails dry!

I just payed $100 for a French manicure with tips.
.....Don't ask me why. I don't want to think about it. I'm still in disbelief.
Wish I had read the reviews before, I walked in on impulse!!!

Other than that, the place appeared to be clean & organized and the ladies were friendly.

I called on the phone and asked how much it cost for a French gel pedicure . They told me 50. I asked again, five zero, 50? They said yes. I went in and got it and at the end she tells me 84. I said you told me 50 when I asked twice on the phone earlier. She goes no 84. They lied to me and robbed me. Will not be going back and will not recommend to anyone else. I don't like people who lie to me. If you for whatever reason go here make sure they write the number down on a piece of paper and confirm several times before hand. On top of it it's a pretty bad job too. Save your hundred bucks

They were amazing!! Took their time and the foot massage was amazing. Scrubbed my feet for 15 mins making sure all the dead skin was off, I can't wait to come back.

Not only is this place overpriced as many reviewers say, the prices on their web site haven't been updated in years so they're actually even higher. I saw on their Services page yesterday that a manicure is $15 which is pretty much the going rate in this neighborhood these days. But something made me call and ask, and a manicure is now $18. When I told her about the web site she said "oh, that was a long time ago."

I have been a customer since 2010. This is one of the best nail salons in the New York City. Very clean and spacious. Most of all, everyone is very friendly. Strongly recommend Mimi.

The place itself is very clean and beautiful! After having a disappointing first experience, the Mimi Nail Salon team was very prompt and helpful at fixing it. I saw Gina to fix my nails and she did a wonderful job! They were very caring and made sure my second time there was better, which it was!!

I decided to try a new nail salon out and really wish I hadn't. This salon is EXTREMELY OVERPRICED for less than quality service. For a gel manicure, normal pedicure and 10 min massage I was charged 91 dollars. Nothing felt sanitary here either - the chairs were old, they used paper towels instead of towels for over the foot stand and the color choices were limited. I do not recommend this place and wish I had looked at the reviews before going myself.

Great nail technicians. Super friendly. Extremely overpriced!!! 10 min massage -17 dollars?! Never heard of it being that much. Won't be coming back.

First of all I would like to mention that my esthetician was really friendly, did a good job and I had a particularly good 3 minutes massage after my manicure. HOWEVER: My friend and I got completely ripped off and after I mentioned that the price is way more than on the menu (I had to paid $23. On the board it said $15.) the lady was pretty rude and insulting. Although the service was good this place is way too expensive compared to the tons of other manicure places around. NOT recommended!

This place is beautiful and clean.The girls are the best. They are very nice and helpful. Don’t look further. They simply offer the best nails and spa services. And their chair massages are the best.

Beware. They are cheats. I’ve been going there for years and must say they do a great job, are pleasant and very clean. Nice atmosphere. However their prices keep going up. Today I paid $47 for a mani pedi. While my nails were drying a saw a sign that said special Mon - Wed mani pedi $39. I mentioned it and they were all over me as I was quite vocal. So the girl who did my nails put money in my bag (I was still drying). Assumed it was the difference bets 47 and 39 which would be $8. Got home only to see a five dollar bill in my bag. They all have smiles but are very sneaky!

Overpriced salon. Owner is very nice till you have a problem. Then no apology, compensation or apology. Better salons in area for a less money.

Came here on a whim and luckily this nail salon is open late. They took me with no appointment which was good.
However, my nails came out ok and it was a fairly short experience (no water for the cuticles, very short massage time, etc) for being more expensive for a regular manicure than most around the area.

Expecting a $15 charge. I’m charged $7 for shellac removal. Probably the most I’ve been charged to remove shellac and my lady failed to mentioned this before she began.
Transparency is key.

The only reason I am giving 3 stars is because my nail technician was very nice and skilled. She did a great job. Also, on a busy day they took me quick. Otherwise I would only give 2 stars.

$74 for a gel manicure and regular pedicure. The tubs are old and were not clean. Barely any massage, very rushed. My gel manicure was light pink and over a day it got bubbly and turned YELLOW. That was a first. Now, low and behold a few days later it's all chipped. If the prices were cheaper, I would be more understanding, but $74 then with tip is almost $100. Rediculous.

The first time I came in, my natural nails were really long and I just wanted something hard (like acrylic or gel) put on them so they wouldn't break. When we sat down to do powder gel, I asked that my nails not be shaped as I liked how they were already, but the technician began shaping them anyway. She shaped them down to square (I like my nails round) and I lost a lot of length and just really didn't like them. She also put on my polish really quickly and thick, so it didn't dry and smudged immediately. I was really upset, as the whole experience was very expensive, and I soaked

Was charged 15 dollars for shellac removal. Had the same work done on 2nd ave for 7 dollars. Won't be going back, even though it's across from my building. Don't respect unscrupulous practices.

Charged me an additional +14 for getting the twisted bottle of Essie. I get my nails 2-4x a month and have never seen that amount. Didn't look like they cleaned pedicure tubs sufficiently -- just sprayed after use

I gave this salon 3 stars because the quality of my pedicure was very good. They listened to what I wanted and did a great job.

What kept me rating this salon higher was the fact that they are a bit more pricy then they let on and couldn't give me a proper price list for anything. They were trying to sell me on a $150 pedicure. I only knew it cost that much after I asked them three times how much it cost.

The pedicures are a bit pricy at $30.

Wonderful staff with excellent customer service. Everyone at Mimi's is super friendly and nice. The mani pedis are the best on the upper east side.

I fail to see how a rational person could give this establishment five stars. I have been getting manicures for over thirty (30) years. I get a cream manicure every week, even though the polish does not need to be changed. My current manicurist went on vacation last week. I pre-checked and made sure Mimi's gave cream manicures and ascertained the cost, even though I couldn't have it done that day. The cost was given to me by Anne the manager, owner of the franchise or whatever she calls herself. Two days later I went in and I brought my own base coat, polish, top coat and quick dry

I've lived in the city for a little over a year now and had been looking for a good nail place - once I found Mimi's, I knew my search was over.

The friendliest staff. Very clean salon. The owner is so sweet. And they always do an amazing job - no matter who I have!

I get a pedicure and gel manicure here about once a month - the gel lasts that long.

Would highly recommend Mimi's to anyone in the UES!

Ugh. Wish I read the previous comment. THE WORSE mani pedi (nails left uneven, polish painted on skin) & WAY too over priced. Never again.
