My name is Steven Madewell, Certified Professional Home Inspector. We are one of the most well-qualified home inspection companies in Maryland and the District of Columbia. We have spent years in the inspection and construction industry. But we take it to the next level. Experience is only good when it is coupled with knowledge and rigorous training.
We encourage you to attend the entire home inspection, from beginning to end. A typical home inspection will take 2-4 hours, depending on the size and condition of the home, and how many questions our clients have (we love questions). For first time home buyers, our home inspections provide an excellent education on home ownership and home maintenance.

We were referred to Madewell Inspection by our realtor Lisa Winslow . Steve came highly recommended and I will have to say he did a tremendous job! We were little worried because we had AS-IS in our offer. After our initial conversation with Steve we felt at ease. Steve patiently explained all our questions in detail. 3/24/21 Steve completed my Buyer Client's Home Inspection. It was convenient to schedule him using his online calendar so we were able to have the inspection within 3 days. His work was very thorough and his report was amazing! It included home maintenance items as well as repairs the house would need. Luckily this home was not listed As-Is and the Seller was willing to address the majority of the items. Unfortunately for this one, the water had been turned off so a reinspection was necessary. As a realtor, I recommend my clients to Steve to do home inspection. He checked every cornor of the house. He is the only one inspector who use vedio in the report. That make such big difference with other inspectors. He does not make things big if it is small issues, he does not hide potiential problem if he recognizes something. Steve with Madewell Inspection Services did an outstanding job with our home inspection. Very responsive. Easy to work with for scheduling and communication. I really liked the level of detail that went into the inspection and the report. Steve showed me certain items to ensure I understood his concerns and this was further elaborated on in the report. I was recommended several home inspectors. After reading the reviews online I choose Madewell Inspection Services. Steve arrived before our agreed upon time and was already looking over the house from the outside. He went through and answered any questions I had. He immediately caught a small gas leak outside the house. He was very thorough in looking over the home. He also suggest fixes for various minor things that could use some repair.
