Chris Bruning DVM a 1981 graduate of Michigan State University, College of Veterinary Medicine, has been providing veterinary services at Brookside Veterinary Hospital in Kingsley, Michigan for over 20 years. During her free time she enjoys spending time with her dog and 2 cats, doing crafts, camping, and sitting on her back deck with a good book.
Our appointment book is computerized which allows us to efficiently make appointments for you and your pet. Our receptionist and team will attempt to accommodate all requests to the best of our ability. Emergencies are accepted anytime our clinic is open. I was up north and forgot to bring my dogs heart worm meds and flea and tick meds. They allowed my vet to email them proof of heart worm test and script. And saved me 5 hours of driving home and back. I called over a dozen vets and they were the only ones that offered to help.

We were in Traverse City for a vacation when my daughter's 10 month old Golden retriever pup developed a quick growing lump in her neck. I called every vet I could find and they were old closed. Brookside not only answered, they saw her within 2 hours of us contacting them. When we arrived they quickly got us into an exam room and looked at her neck. They took some fluid and smeared it and concluded that it was a reaction to a spider bit or bee sting. Gave her antibiotics and steriods and clear directions how to give the medication and symptoms to look out for. They were so sweet with both the

Brookside veterinary has been our vet for several years. Dr. Bruning and her staff are so thoughtful, helpful and caring. Recently, we had to have one of our Sheltie’s put down. We called Dr. Bruning in the middle of the night and she and a staff member met us at their office to take care of our dog. Their care and compassion was beyond… anything we could have asked for or comprehended. They were kind, caring and sensitive to our needs. We are very grateful for helping us through this difficult time. Thank you Dr. Bruning and staff. You guys are the best.

The vet assistant Tanya cared more about the fact it will be over a year by 20 days than all of the years we have been coming to this office, absolutely appalled by her refusal complete a form on behalf of a dog who has been in this offices care since she was a puppy. If you travel avoid this office and find a different Vet.
