Services
At Ashtanga Yoga Columbus (AYC), we believe so deeply in the transformative nature of the Ashtanga method that we created a space solely dedicated to exploring the benefits of the practice. With this intention, Taylor founded the Mysore program in 2012 to provide a community where students could learn Ashtanga yoga as it's still traditionally taught in Mysore, India.
We'll be spending five days recharging and reconnecting to our practices in a community-centered environment on beautiful Hilton Head Island. Experience 4 mornings of Mysore practice, an evening dharma talk on the beach, and two workshops focused on deepening your practice and reconnecting with yourself.
Taylor Hunt is a devoted practitioner and teacher of Ashtanga yoga. He makes yearly trips to Mysore, India to further his studies under the guidance of his teacher, Sharath Jois. In 2013, Taylor was granted Level 2 Authorization to teach and has had the honor of assisting in the shala on several occasions.
Please inform your teacher of any injuries or conditions that might affect your yoga practice. Adjustments are utilized in the Mysore room. If at anytime you are uncomfortable receiving a physical adjustment, please let the teacher know. If you would like to completely opt out of physical adjustments that day, there are consent coins on the desk.
Mysore, named for Mysore, India where the practice originated, is a self-paced class allowing students to receive individual instruction while learning the Ashtanga yoga practice. All levels are welcome from new beginners to advanced practitioners looking to deepen their understanding of the practice.

I had the best experience, coming back to yoga at AYC, after not a period of no practice. The instructor I had, Steph was so helpful and met me where I was. Very encouraging and welcoming. Great vibe. Can’t wait to go back!

Only been here once but already love it! The intro class is great and I really like the style of the open Mysore classes. Right off 71 with plenty of parking is just a bonus!

Beautiful, intimate studio, which manages to do in person classes safely & still preserve the physical nature of the practice. Teachers are beyond wonderful (in biased towards Sara) 🙂. So encouraging & wonderful.

What an amazing opportunity i have been given by Taylor and his people. The service and attention to detail i have received from everyone at Ashtanga yoga Columbus has been brilliant. They have all helped me to improve massively both on and off the mat, without their help and support i don't know how i would have got through this lockdown. Anybody looking to get into yoga i would highly recommend this company!

Ashtanga Yoga Columbus is an absolutely amazing studio. I just started Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga this year and although I was making progress just on my own at home during the pandemic, I knew I needed a studio and teacher if I really wanted to progress. I'm so glad I chose AYC because although Ashtanga can be intimidating, I have never felt intimidated at the AYC studio. Everyone is welcoming and Taylor and the other teachers are fun, relaxed and helpful and as is the Mysore style, everyone moves at their own pace. I highly recommend AYC if you are interested in a yoga studio in Columbus - they have

The BEST place you will ever take a yoga class! But AYC is so much more than just a yoga studio, it's a community ready to welcome everyone, no matter your experience level. The teachers are extremely knowledgeable and encouraging. I've flown from the west coast just to practice here in this amazing space!

I love this place and these people. I travel from Ontario to be here and learn/practice because it is such a special place. The teachers here are knowledgeable, experienced and conscientious about teaching. I know I am in the best, safest place when I walk through those doors.

Amazing community, challenging yet approachable classes. A connection to the long line of yoga directly from India. No fluff, no blanket “love and light” that can be a bit eye rolling in modern western yoga. They teach an auhentic and spiritual practice.

Wonderful space full of inspiring people. I've learned so much from all of the teachers at AYC. Highly recommend if your looking for something more than a typical "vinyasa" studio, or if you are wanting a practice that will give you noticeable results. Beginners will feel welcome and comfortable, and experienced practitioners will get what they're looking for.

Taylor & Jessica Hunt along with Dr. Dawn Blevins are doing the Greater Columbus Ohio area a huge service by teaching Mysore Style Ashtanga Yoga here. Bringing this healing yoga practice to those in addiction recovery through the Trini Foundation is truly a community asset which social service agencies and policy makers alike should take note of.
