We are always excited about meeting new patients during their first visit to our office. Your initial appointment will consist of a thorough examination and a discussion of potential treatment options. This important one-hour visit will give us insight into your orthodontic needs. Digital photographs and panorex radiographs are taken.
You know how important it is to brush and floss properly when you're wearing braces - but what's the best way to do that? Let's start with the basic brushing tools: Either a soft-bristle brush or a bi-level brush (one that has shorter bristles in the middle and longer bristles at the edges) can be effective.

The staff at Bivens Orthodontist are extremely professional. The passion they show for the awesome work that they do is beyond measure. They are truly changing peoples lives daily. I just got my braces off and could not be happier. I trust them with what they do that I have both my Son and Daughter going through braces with them. If you are not happy with your smile don’t hesitate. It does not matter how old you are to make a change. I waited long enough and got them when I was 37. Thank you Bivens orthodontist team.

Dr. Bivins, is very good with children. They keep you very informed, step by step. His staff is outstanding, they are always smiling, and very helpful. I would tell all my family and friends to go here. And the best thing is, the kids aren't afraid to go, they are actually excited. That should say it all.

Dr. Todd runs the most professional office that I have ever been a treated at. Hands down from start to finish for both of my daughters a very open, courteous and professional experience. Everything was explained right from the first phone call all the way until the retainer phase we are in right now. I was so comfortable that when my oldest daughter received her license I started letting her go by herself. She has never had a problem and experienced the same courteous treatment as if I was right there. There is a reason Bivins Orthodontics has been consistently voted best in Chesapeake for 15

My daughter was yelled at by the doctor when she went to her appointment today. She left in tears. Disgusted that they would treat a minor like that. If you have a disagreement with the parent, talk to the parent. Do not bring the child into it. Totally unprofessional.
