Dr. Beverly Kotara Wiatrek has been in practice in San Antonio since 1979. She moved to her present location on East Southcross in June of 1982. Our practice is dedicated to general optometry, contact lenses, therapeutic optometry and refractive surgery. We offer comprehensive vision exams and specialize in the diagnosis and treatment of a wide array of eye diseases, conditions and problems.

The American Optometric Association (AOA) and The Vision Care Institute of Johnson & Johnson Vision Care, Inc., have partnered to create InfantSEE, a no-cost public health program developed to provide professional eye care for infants nationwide.

Through InfantSEE, Optometrists will provide a one-time, comprehensive eye assessment to infants in their first year of life, offering early detection of potential eye and vision problems at no cost regardless of income.Detects potential problems that, if undetected, may lead to learning and developmental issues later.

Just wanted to share the awesome experience my father and I had with Dr. Wiatrek and the friendly receptionist Karry. Karry went out of her way to assist myself to see if my insurance would cover and also printed out a list of in network providers. And my father was very pleased with the staff and Dr. Wiatrek. She had excellent rapport with her patients and was very informative. We would definitely recommend Dr. Wiatrek and her friendly staff to anyone. (side note: Had to use my daughter's account to post this review) :)

The staff was super friendly and Beverly was just awesome. She was very patient with our son and very caring. They made the whole experience enjoyable. My wife and I wanted to go somewhere that was more personal. I see us going here for many years to come. We are very thankful we found her.

I walked in to see about becoming a new patient and the older lady at the front desk cut me off every time I’m trying to talk. This is how it went:
Me: Hello, I’d like to see about becoming a new pati-
Lady: -We don’t take walk-ins!
Me: that’s fine, I just wanted to see if I could make an appointm-
Lady: -what insurance do you have?
Me: I have -
Lady: - we don’t take premiere!
Me: no I have VSP...
Lady: oh we take that. Let me look something up.
I gave it two stars because the young lady behind her found an appointment date for me and was actually nice! She let me know I can’t

She was very patient and just all around great. For the first time trying contacts in 21 years of wearing glasses she was great at recommendations and despite having to change my left contact 4 times she finally found what I needed.

She is an excellent doctor and will take the time to make sure that you're happy with your contacts or glasses. Wait times are not bad and prices are good as well.
