At Eyes of San Antonio, our goal is promote good eye health and enable you to have the clearest vision possible. We accept several types of vision insurance, cash, checks, and most credit cards. We inform our San Antonio patients about exam and treatment costs at the beginning of your appointment. If you require a breakdown of costs, please let us know.
The founder of Eyes of San Antonio, Dr. Robert S. Thompson, was born and raised in Stamford, Texas. Dr. Thompson is a 1972 graduate of the University of Houston College of Optometry. While there, he earned membership in Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society and Beta Sigma Kappa Optometric Honor Society. He also served as Vice President of the University of Houston Baptist Student Union.

Great staff and Dr. Thompson is awesome. He was the only eye doctor that would see me as a new patient when I had an allergic reaction to medicine that affected my eye. Needless to say he is now my eye doctor and my family’s eye doctor! You all are amazing!! Thank you so much for keeping my eyes healthy and in good hands!!

Been coming here for about six years now. Dr. Thompson is very kind and professional. The office does a digital examination of your eye first using their systems then Dr. Thompson looks at them the old fashioned way just to double check you get the right diagnosis and prescription. This place is a bit pricey but if you have insurance, most of the cost is typically absorbed by it!

I have been seeing Dr. Thompson since I was a teenager back in the 90s. He has a great practice and listens to any eye concerns you are experiencing. He is very knowledgeable and professional. God given talents indeed. His staff has always been kind and helpful! From performing the initial screenings to finding the right pair of glasses if need be. His office is very peaceful and always clean. I would definitely recommend Eyes of San Antonio to anyone.
