Heineke Veterinary Hospital, located in Alexandria, KY, was established in 1989 by Dr. Barry Heineke to provide professional animal care to the Northern Kentucky & Greater Cincinnati communities. His son, Dr. Brandon Heineke, joined the team in 2016 and in 2018 his oldest son, Nick Heineke, joined the practice as Practice Manager.

When our dog tore his toenail out while we were visiting family, this vet took us in immediately and treated our boy with love and care and did a great job with him and for us. We couldn't be more grateful fortheir quick response and for the comssion they showed. 10/10 would use them if we were local.

All around fantastic practice with wonderful, caring staff. My very first visit to this vet clinic was for a sudden injury on my dog that needed to be seen same day. Heineke was not only able to get me in same day but treated my dog with such care. My dog is getting older, and I appreciated that he was taken back and treated quickly to reduce his stress. The overall wait time was short and Brandon took time to answer all of my questions and fully explained every step of my dog’s treatment.
I will definitely return to this clinic for all my pets’ needs!

I absolutely love this vet office!!! This father and son duo and their team are nothing but amazing!!!! and if not already they should be voted the top veterinarian office in the Northern KY, tri-state area. Both doctors are very kind gentlemen and take their time while providing you and your pets the best service possible. I know my animals are safe and in great hands when they come to this office. I am very pleased with the overall customer service provided by the entire staff too. Please listen to the reviews if your considering this vet office for your fur babies. Everyone that works here is so sweet and amazing! We had a sick dog that they squeezed into their schedule. She ended up needing emergency surgery that day and everyone was so accommodating and comforting to me while I was so scared for our dog. They called me every step of the way and took such good care of our Luna! She's home resting now and recovering thanks to everyone at Heineke!

Dr. Heineke and his team are truly amazing. I have never been so impressed with how professional a group of people have done their jobs. They truly care so much about the well being of your animals. I had never been to this animal hospital before and while I was out of town, my dog had an emergency and without question, they welcomed her in with open arms and went out of their way to communicate their progress to ease my mind. They even sent pictures and videos of my baby to ease my mind. They are truly the best!

Absolutely love Heineke!!! Dr. Barry & Dr. Brandon are phenomenal!!!! Extremely friendly and knowledgeable staff! We left our previous vet of 20 yrs and it was the best decision we made for our animals. We have 10 animals and they did not hesitate to take us in. Our previous vet made it seem like the only option for our elderly handicapped cat was euthanasia and that was not the case at all when we first visited Heineke. They went over every option possible to have the best quality of life for our cat and never once mentioned euthanizing him. I truly and honestly believe they care and love animals
