When you arrive at Riverview Animal Hospital, you can expect quality care for your pet as we treat them as one of our own. Riverview Animal Hospital is an American Association of Feline Practitioners Feline Friendly practice, so if you're visiting with a cat, we will do our best to take you immediately into an exam room.
Before your visit please feel free to read over and print the appropriate forms for your visit. If you do not have time or forget, don't worry! We will have the forms available for you! We at Riverview Animal Hospital want to meet you and your pet before your pet is ever put under general anesthesia!
This will save you time when picking up your order. Please allow 24 hours for order processing. Do not come to the clinic until you have received confirmation to pick up your order. Note: Some prescriptions will require an examination of your pet prior to re-filling. Many prescriptions require your pet to be examined before dispensing.

My 3 year old cat has had stomach issues off and on since I have had her. I called Riverview Animal Hospital to get her an appointment due to the fact that they have a feline certified vet. Everything about the business was EXCEPTIONAL. From calling to make the appointment where the technician spent over 10 minutes on the phone with me taking notes and asking details, to the fact that I was able to come in the same day due to a cancellation, I was blown away. Dr. Mahan and her staff are amazing. I have a 20+ year old cat who is relatively healthy for an old guy. He has some thyroid and kidney issues and Dr. Mahan is the perfect mix between not too aggressive, while still treating his chronic conditions. She responds personally to follow up on labs and tests and answer questions. The rest of the staff is also welcoming and friendly and scheduling is super easy. 10/10 would recommend!

Since my last review, I've had a lot more experience with Riverview. They are now treating my senior cat, who has been dealing with a mystery skin allergy since December 2019.
All through the lockdown and early days of the pandemic, Riverview was open and following extremely conservative protocol for Covid safety. I'm so blessed that this is our fur family's vet.

I cannot say enough good things about Riverview. Everyone who works there absolutely loves animals, and treats pets with the utmost gentleness during what is usually a high-stress event for the animal. They are incredibly responsive, and have happily answered my dog-care questions over the phone without charging for a visit. My dog genuinely looks forward to visiting, both for the fun smells and because they shower him with treats during his visits.

Hospital now for over 5 years and can’t say enough great things about the level of care and service we have been given by Dr Mahan and the staff.
We were referred to Riverview by multiple friends when we moved to Newport and I can understand why. The amount of compassion, professionalism, and help the staff provides is the best we have experienced. Although we have since 25 minutes away, there is no other veterinarian I would trust with the care for my dogs. Thanks to the entire staff at Riverview Animal Hospital!

Two days after we got our eight week old puppy she became very sick. We had never been to Riverview animal Hospital and had just made an appointment for the following week for our new puppy. When I called them in distress they worked our puppy in for an appointment that same day. The staff was extremely helpful, friendly and efficient. Dr. Mahon took plenty of time to answer all of our questions and to reassure us that our new puppy was on the mend. Our Zelda was having complications with her heart murmur so I made an appointment with Riverview Sunday night & they got us in Monday afternoon. All of the staff are so welcoming and they did so much to make sure Zelda was comfortable. When it came to finances they were extremely gentle and respectful, the vet tech (Kate, I think her name was) explained all of the charges before performing the tests. I had adopted a cat and was unhappy with another animal hospital that I had used for years with a prior pet. That veterinarian had retired and sold the practice. Looking for someplace new, I received a recommendation from a friend to visit Riverview Animal Hospital. I was thoroughly impressed with the professionalism of Dr. Mahan and her staff. The facilities are modern, impeccable and well equipped. This was over a year ago but recently we were back for my kitty's annual wellness checkup. I finally captured a feral cat that I had been working on for 1 1/2 yrs. I called three animal hospitals. This was the only one who took us in sight unseen. The level of customer service was the highest I have ever experienced period. They treated my feral with utmost care and consideration. He could not have been easy to handle. I know it was traumatic for my guy, yet they treated him like a king. Which made it all the easier to bring him home and into our lives. He is now adjusting to becoming a house cat. Thank you huge

I called in the morning because my pit bull, Thor, was scratching his ear and shaking his head and crying all night. They were happy to give me an appointment just a few hours later.
I walk in to all the staff giving him tons of treats and love which made me so happy! They were so welcoming. They even have a little white board at the front desk welcoming all the pets that have appointments that day with a list of all their names.
So even though he was a brand new patient, and even though I had just called that morning, they were happy to do everything they could to take care

Dr. Mahan & her fabulous staff are so WONDERFUL! Whenever you have a scheduled appointment, you are brought back quickly and aren't stuck out in the waiting room with your crazy dogs. Dr. Mahan always is approachable and will answer any questions and calls personally to deliver updates/information. Recently, my 1.5 year old pup had some unexplained sickness in the middle of the night and Dr. Mahan kept her all day to monitor her and returned her to me totally healthy. Their prices are fair and they never do any excessive testing or additional appointments unless totally necessary. Both

RABBIT FRIENDLY!
The staff at Riverview is very caring and professional. You can tell they are all animal people and are interested in your pet. Dr. Mahan is amazing and called me personally when my rabbit was very sick to talk about final arrangements, saying she would even stay late to help out however she could. Highly recommend!
