The highest mark has to go to the ambiance - tasteful music, intimate lighting, elegant decor. The food presentation was top notch and the ingredients were seasonal. However, the beef course was a bit lackluster, and there was a wide lack of temperature control across the whole dinner - the soup was dangerously hot, and the white wine was much too cold. The service and value go hand-in-hand in my rating, I was disappointed with the lack of professionalism for the price - they touched our wine glasses when pouring, didn’t know the country

The atmosphere and presentation of the food were wonderful. Most of the dishes also tasted great. Especially the sunchock salad and the carrot ginger soup. I wasn’t a big fan about how salty the scallop was, and I was super not impressed with how boring the prime rib main course was. I barely touched the short rib because it tasted so weird.
Also given the price I paid ($180 per person plus tax and “service fee”), I have to give a 3 star for the unprofessional service.

About once every three or four years I find myself near Front Royal Va and the Houndstooth in Huntley. I make it a point to find time for dinner, even if I am unable to enjoy a stay at Glen Gordon Manor (which is not to be missed, if possible). Each time, the location has improved, which is amazing considering the high quality experience from the start. This latest visit saw the seating arrangements expanded, thus allowing greater social distancing without affecting the ambiance. The dinner was magical, superb presentation, outstanding well transitioned flavor profiles, and inspired wine parings

I reached out twice via email requesting information on reservation availability and wait listing and did not receive any responses (9 days later). I can't speak to their food and would still love to try one day, but their customer service/responsiveness is not on par with even much lower rated/reviewed restaurants and needs improvement.

Whether you are looking for a night out, a weekend a way, or traveling a distance, Glen Gordon Manor and Houndstooth Restaurant is a destination you have to try. Chef Dayn Smith is incredible and his food is amazing. We did the wine pairings with our five course meal and it was superb. The chilled spring pea soup with orzo and crab meat was surprising and refreshing. We also had roasted tenderloin and braised short rib that was so tender. They paired amazing and both just melted in your mouth. But, my favorite was dessert, you should just go there to find out!
