I think we’re going to have to try this one again. The first try did not live up to the hype.
To be fair, we started off poorly when it was 85 degrees outside and they required us to sit outside. They said it was because they were under staffed, but that was not obvious.
I missed the dress code memo because I came dressed for a primo restaurant and was the only one not in shorts and a polo - or worse, much worse. Even one of the waitresses had a full sleeve of tattoos.
If they would have let us eat in the air conditioned space of this beautiful property, I’m sure things would have proceeded

Excellent attention to detail, gorgeous outdoor setting with string lights across the outdoor tent. Amazing Italian food. I’ve never liked the texture of octopus but this place taught me what it should be like. The freshly made pasta was excellent too. We were impressed by everything we ordered. The owner was very friendly and attentive.

First I admit I must be in the minority because the parking lot is almost always full. I have lived 5 miles from this place since it opened, have been once and will not be back.
I talked to folks who either loved it or hated it. I don’t hate it but it is not worth the money. Spend a little more and go to the Inn for an amazing dinner or spend a lot less and enjoy a relaxing meal at Griffin Tavern.
For those who want details; I ordered steak Medium and it came Medium Well. When you are paying these prices those kinds of errors are inexcusable. The wait staff treated us like we were an intrusion

We spent the night here on our anniversary! We showed up, not knowing what to expect, but we were immediately blown away! The owner was extremely hospitable, even while emailing me beforehand. We thoroughly enjoyed walking around the property, through their gardens, and hanging out in their gazebo. After that, the room was well taken care of and clean. Overall, it was an excellent experience! We would absolutely go back!

I'm disappointed that we only had a world-class dinner at Blue Door. Next time we'll stay at the Inn to take full advantage of this diamond hidden in the open in Flint Hill. We were accommodated with reservations even though we called on the same day. Our server was Reem, later we discovered she is the chef's wife and we learned so much about the establishment while enjoying our sumptuous meal. The ravioli is a Blue Door signature dish that is simply indescribable. It has a crepe-like texture with a flavor that left us excited to return. The halibut dish was equally delicious. Our dessert choices

This intimate and cozy restaurant is wonderful for dining inside as well as enjoying their beautiful outdoor dining area. The service is quite good, with servers who are polite and efficient with cleaning up the empty plates so more can come. My water never went below half a glass!
This place is so good, that I make a point to stop every time I’m in town.
