He runs around the house now saying he is a karate master (mind you he's 4). I'm very impressed with how patient everyone is with the little kids and understands that they just need to learn it like the big kids! I'm also impressed with how well behaved and obedient all their other groups are and ready for the next step.

First review I have ever written about any company online good or bad. I don't feel compelled to either hurt or advertise someone's business publicly. After reading some of the reviews here I felt compelled to post our family's experience at Long's Karate.
My family has been attending Long's Karate for quite some time now. I have two grade school aged children currently enrolled in the Master Club. Both of my children have benefited from Long's Karate far more than I could have ever imagined. Coming from martial arts when I was younger, I value the life lessons that are taught and the manners

My boys have been going here for 7 years. My oldest started when he was 4 and my middle son when he was around 4 so 5 years. They are in the black belt club meaning they do judo, aikido, weapons, kick boxing, sparring, and karate. My boys are testing for black and brown belt this week. I will also be taking my 2 year old son there at 3 or 4. Mark Long does a wonderful job with my kids. They learn more than just self defense. Miguel and David Stringer are also wonderful teachers. I would recommend coming in for a free lesson. My boys have done baseball, t ball, soccer, wrestling, and do basketball

My family has been going to Long's Karate for over 20 years. Obviously we thing it is a great place and the instructors are awesome. Fun place with constant upgrades to equipment and course structure. They offer Karate, Aikido, Judo, Jui Jitsu, Self Defense, Kickboxing, and Conditioning as well as leadership skills and confidence boosting. Great for the whole family, kids and adults are welcomed by the friendly staff.

I have been going to Longs karate for 17 years. My son and daughter also used to attend. I have stayed with it because I truly enjoy going. I love the learning and the friendship, the family atmosphere. As with any sport you always have your family that thinks they are more important than anyone else and get upset when their children are not treated like the dojo revolves around them. So they get upset and leave the dojo, then they leave bad reviews because they are just that upset that the dojo didn't revolve around them
I've seen these types of family's come and go over the years. Yet they cannot

I have taken every adult class available at Longs Shotokan (aikido, karate, judo, kickboxing, team karate, sport karate sparring) and after 5 years of being a member of this dojo, I had to finally walk away from the drama. There are so many inconsistencies and double standards at play there that it is impossible to keep track of. The schedule changes at least twice a year and the most recent schedule change cut classes down to 30 minutes, half of which is spent listening to sermon-like lectures and not even working out.
