Great dojo! From the facility to the instructors, everything at 510 Judo is first rate. With workouts in Judo or BJJ 6 days a week, 510 Judo is one of the best values available in Bay Area dojos. Highly recommended.

I'm a pretty shy person and so I really appreciated how welcoming the Sensei and his students made me feel. I'm learning a lot, and I can really see myself growing here. If you like grappling, this has to be by far amongst the best facilities in the Bay Area!

Awesome and welcoming dojo! I never really was interested in judo or even heard of it growing up. I mainly was always interested in other forms of martial arts such as kick boxing, boxing, bjj etc but last year I decided to give this place a try and sensei jonah is one of the best teachers I've had. Judo has shown me discipline and how you don't necessarily have to be the biggest or strongest in order to defend yourself without even throwing a punch, not to say I'm in here for self defense but it is useful for that as well. The sport of judo is an amazing one and this is an amazing

As a long-time martial artist who's trained with Jonah and Omar for many years, I have nothing but respect for their grappling. Both are incredibly talented and generous instructors as well as active fighters at the top of their game (Jonah is a recent national champ in Judo and Omar competes in the pro Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu circuit). They have a great adult group for both hobbyists and competitors and a thriving kid's class also. Highly recommend 510 Judo for all grapplers in the area.

To my family and I finding 510 judo has been a blessing. I have always wanted to do a martial art and now I can enjoy it and learn with my two boys 6 and 4. The classes are very structured and Jonah is great with the kids.

Let's not forget to mention that 510 judo has a class for 3-5 year olds as well as 6-10. Not many dojo's teach such young kids. The instructions are clear and Jonah is extremely proficient in his craft. Here are some of my favorite parts about my children learning judo with sensei Jonah. It teaches my children to pay attention, sit and stay still, not to interrupt

Neat and sanitary dojo conveniently located near the freeway with plenty of parking. Top notch instruction with multiple black belt instructors taught at different hours of the day all week. Instructors are personable and not intimidating; they work well with adults and kids. As an added bonus they also offer Jiu Jitsu. All prices are fair and competitive.

Grapplers dream.
I attend the 6AM BJJ classes and this place makes it easy to wake up at that time.
A lot of gyms try to cater to too many disciplines and as a result the facilities are not suitable for grappling.
510 is designed to allow maximum space to train on mats that are meant to be trained on. No dangerous gaps between mats and ALWAYS immaculately clean.
The BJJ classes are with Omar and he's a great coach, thorough and extremely detail oriented.

Great group of people and it's really cool to train with such high level Judokas. It's really help develop my BJJ game.

I came recently to 510 judo to train Brazilian JiuJitsu with Professor Omar Kasdi. Professor Kasdi is very patient, experienced and has a very well rounded knowledge of BJJ and fitness. The classes are just the right amount of challenging and a great way to start the day. The dojo is clean, organized and very accessible as well. If you commute from Oakland like me there is no traffic in the morning and it takes less than 15 to arrive.

I have 3 girls (8,6&4) who all love Oakland Judo. Sensei Jonah is really great with kids and the program is really fun with lots of mat work and grappling. It has really helped my kids with their body confidence- they quickly went from being hesitant on the mat to easily out maneuvering larger stronger kids- it is pretty amazing to watch.

I joined Oakland Judo about 2 months ago because I didn't do any sport for the past 15years and was really out of shape (kept gaining weight, always tired, exhausted to walk up stairs, etc.. ). I felt welcome right away at this place; I come to practice several times a week and already feel the difference. I lost at least 10lbs so far, I sleep better and feel much more energetic in my daily life which is great. I definitely recommend this place if you are trying to get back in shape in a friendly environment.

When I first came to Oakland I had tried out about a dozen schools in the area and Oakland Judo stood out amongst them all, even when they had the smaller facility. The teaching is on point, the people who make up the class body are awesome, cost was within my budget, and the class times fit my schedule. Now that they moved to a larger facility, it was a no brainer to join.

I did Taewondo and Hapkido when I was in school. I always wanted to learn Judo but now I'm In my mid-40's I was debating with myself. My kids come here and they just love it. After having seen the instructors(sensei Jonah and Jose) interacting with kids, I decided to take lesson. Kids are so calm and well behaved. Adult students are very nice and they are willing to give me tips on practice. It is so family friendly environment. To me, Judo is a gentleman's art. The moves are so gracious and could actually be used in self-defense at school without having to hit somebody. I wish I

I've been wandering around the bay area like a puppy, looking for a dojo to call home, and the minute I walked through the door and saw Jonah sensei teaching a kid's class with the biggest smiles on their faces I knew I had found it. I've competed and trained under some of the most esteemed Judo Masters around the world, and I can attest in all sincerity that Oakland Judo is judo at it's finest

Sensei Jonah and Sensei Leon are great instructors, as they've been taught by Sensei/Shifu Alex Feng. I've been coming here for about two years since I had a hiatus from judo for 15 years. They do an excellent job of teaching the fundamentals as well as more intermediate and advanced techniques. The dojo is well lit, has nice mats/crash pads, restrooms, and changing rooms. The location is easy to get to off of either Highway 580 or 13.

I started learning Judo about a month ago at the Oakland Judo Club. The instructors are great, knowledgeable and very patient. I have learned so much since I first started, mostly because of the teacher/student ratio at Oakland Judo Club. Usually the teacher/student ratio is about 1:2~3. Everyone here is very friendly. I highly recommend Oakland Judo Club for anyone who is interested in learning or continue practicing Judo in the East Bay area.

I began taking Judo with Leon a month and a half ago. I take Judo with my two kids Robbie (13) and my daughter Lauryn (10). We have so much fun taking Judo at Tatami Multi Arts Center in El Cerrito.

Leon provides excellent, precise, instruction. He does not just instruct but practices and demonstrates the techniques for you. I can not say enough about how my children and I feel when we leave Tatami. We feel re- energized, confident and upbeat after our training session.

I view the study of Judo as a lifelong learning process and have found a great teacher in Leon. He even worked with me on the
