Frohm's Martial Arts
Frohm's Martial Arts is one of those things that you have to experience to truly grasp how special it is. The family atmosphere and highly accomplished role-models are what has kept people loyal and dedicated for many years. There is a spirit about the teachers here that is not experienced anywhere else.

The staff and instructors have truly found their calling and are genuinely enthused about the youth and community of East Oakland! FMA is a diamond, a progressive school that is committed to creating and empowering leaders in and for our community through the ways of American Karate.
Services
This specialized class was designed around a foundation of discipline. Our pre-school and kindergarten age classes ranging from 12-18 students meets 3 times per week. We provide a range of martial arts activities geared toward the development of their young minds and bodies. We specialize in preparation for entering school by emphasizing following directions.
His mother instilled in him at a young age that 'you are not too ever quit'. It is Master Frohm's belief that it is the responsibility of parents, mentors and the community to build-up our children and young black men and boys with a mindset that they are greater than their obstacles. He has studied Martial Arts for 41 years.
Frohm's Martial Arts Foundation is a non-profit arm which exists to create more opportunities for our community that is in extensive need for mentorship, discipline, and family. We serve those who are abused, homeless, broken, searching, disabled, and so much more. The role we play as instructors are often that of a psychologist, father, best-friend, advisor, mentor, counselor, coach, and plenty more.

Words cannot do justice to how amazing this gem of a school in East Oakland is. Master Frohm and Chief Instructors May and Jefferson have cultivated a community that is caring, supportive and motivating. Expectations of the kids and older students are very high, and comes from a place of love and integrity. And while the physical expectations of training are there, the expectations don't end at the walls of the school. The instructors regularly talk with the kids about balance in their lives - encouraging them in school, supporting family, and pushing students to critically evaluate their

My child has been here for 4.5 years now; best investment that will last a lifetime! I love this place! Very disciplined and structured, very friendly, the head teachers (all Black belts) are warm and professional and have an amazing knack for teaching children and youth. Its amazing how they can get 3,4 & 5 years olds to execute the Karate moves. It's hard work, sometimes my son doesn't want to come, but hearing the teachers tell their own stories when they were youth and having their mom's keep them committed AND then seeing where they are now, is motivation! I looked at many

Best martial arts school in the Bay Area, hands down. Teaches inner city youth AND adults the foundations of martial arts and the building of character. Both my son and I are students here and I look forward to every class taught by these dedicated instructors.

Courtesy, Integrity, Perseverance, Self-Control, Indomitable Spirit...This is the way of life at Frohm's Martial Arts.

I never would have thought I could start Karate 2 months pregnant, at the age of 23 and BLACK! lol...when you think of traditional karate schools, your mind immediately flashes to young children of Asian descent dressed in perfectly matched outfits with a serious face as they uniformally flow to the same silent music. Frohm's Martial Arts is indeed a tranditional karate school, but with a modern day twist. Head Teacher, Ernest Leon Frohm III, is a dynamic instructor

At Frohm's Martial Arts, we study American Karate. American Karate is a combination of American boxing, Karate and Taekwondo. We train hard!! Belts are not given out because you've been here a long time and pay your tuition. There is integrity involved, and you have to earn each rank, regardless of your age.

I came to Frohm's Martial Arts with my daughter who began almost a year before me and I was impressed. Impressed by Head Teacher Mr. Frohm, the Blackbelts, and most important the students. Like I say for any school... Look at the students the school produces, look at

This outfit is all heart. The dojo master is 100% committed to helping Oakland youth survive their lives, develop as leaders, and perhaps even pick up a black belt. The black belts have won dozens of championships. An oasis in a tough part of town.
