I should've left when I heard the customer next to me talk about the nail infection she got after her last visit here. Welp, it's about a month after I got my nails done and I'm writing because the damage my nails underwent are too drastic to ignore. I have scars in my nails and my nails are extremely thin and shaved down. The customer service was horrible and I wouldn't recommend my worst enemy goes here. Even if you are extremely desperate you are better off letting a 7 year old do your nails. Take the red flags.

I came in for a quick mani/pedi. They used liners around the foot tub and had plastic barriers up to protect their clients and themselves. As I walked in they asked me to sanitize my hands and had sanitizer by the door.
My mani was quick and I was impressed by the results. I'm a big nail bitter and they did amazing work with such short nails.
My pedicure was okay. It was super quick and I wish they had spent more time scrubbing and massaging my feet. She started painting my toes nails right away and then finished them off with a quick massage. I thought it was an odd process since the lotion

So, during the pandemic of Covid-19, there was no place to take my mother for her usual manicure/pedicure. After the critical stage of Covid-19 had passed, I left messages with several salons to no avail. I was surprised to receive a message from this salon and decided to try them out. My mother has had her nails done all over the world, which most people would not assume. We were over an hour late to our appointment due to Uber and personal challenges as my mother is 91 years old. The owner(s) waited for our arrival and provided excellent service and treated my mother with the utmost respect

I got a manicure and a pedicure.
I loved the work of the lady who made my feet, but my hands a complete disaster. At the beginning I asked if they could make the design that is in the photo and they said to me yes. Everything was going well until the moment of design ... it was not the color that I wanted and although I told her repeatedly that I do not like the color she insisted on putting the color that she wanted ... the lines of the decoration are not defined , I think my 3-year-old son makes more defined lines .... additionally there was no cuticle cut and under the nails it was horrible

Very bad experience here. I went to get acrylics. They did not come out well. The nails were so crooked that my fingers looked crooked as well. The lady that was shaping them made me bleed with the machine. When she cleaned my hands with the towel you could see the blood. They don't have the Prices on display so they take advantage of that , the nails were $80 and they put you on the spot to make sure you leave a tip in cash. I have never had to Pay more than $50. I won't be going there again. Sorry.

I don't post often (been a decade!), but I want to commend Portola Nail Bar for their reopening safety protocols. Received a beautiful, safe, and quick gel manicure yesterday, the first day they could reopen. Spotless salon with plastic shields at every station. Their gel manicures always last for at least 3 weeks which I appreciate!

Got my first set of dip nails here after going in for a acrylic nail fill. I went in for a fill but my nail tech noticed nail damage (possibly the beginnings of fungus) between my real nail and the acrylic. Seems like my acrylic nails had lifted and water had been getting in. She told me that she would fill if I wanted but wouldn't recommend it. As someone who prob would have overlooked this, I appreciate her letting me know her concerns. So many times, nail techs won't consider your nail health. Super happy with my natural looking nail dip and will be back again soon!

Although, they did a decent job they clearly took advantage of having their prices not labeled inside the location. They not only charged me $50 ($15 more than listed on line) but an additional $20 for gel. From their clarification they clearly charge for two manicures for the price of one when doing acrylics and gel.

They were really nice and they helped you pick out a color. Mine looked really good. It is a little pricey, but the colors are really nice. I went with my family, and my nails and my moms nails looked really good by my sister’s nails were streaky and badly cut. Also, if you don’t say a reservation you probably will not be able to get your nails done. They do have really good massage chairs.

After reading reviews I wasn't even going to try this place and went to the places across the street. Except they (across the street) were closed with a sign on the door that wasn't clear of when the sign was even from...
Anyway! Walked into this spot. They were very nice, inviting and did a great job.
I can be a little picky and specific on what I want and some nail places will get annoyed. Here, not at all. They were so accommodating. Even offered me a cup of coffee.

It's been years since I've had a mani and pedi at this location, and I really wanted to like (and support) it. The first thing that I noticed was that the interior was very dated. For example, the chairs have black tape to cover up tears in upholstery. They also had the music off, and I had the listen to the spin cycle of the washing machine about 5 feet way. This was the middle of the day, so I was surprised that they weren't more prepared for customers.

It's unfortunate that this salon is in my neighborhood and yet I can't make it my "go-to" salon. I really want to give them my business but every single time, I leave feeling uneasy and unsatisfied. The owner is pretentious and does not make her customers feel welcome. There are always conversations in their native language and shifting eyes as they talk; one can't help but feel they are having a conversation about you. It's just plain uncomfortable! The prices are a bit steep for the overall service and quality.

Lan was really nice and did a great job on the full set of new acrylic nails that I got. My three star rating is based on 1) her persistent attempts to up-sell me--I cannot stand when someone keeps trying to push other services or upgrades on you when you are a captive audience; 2) the fact that they waited until I was already halfway through the manicure to mention the fact that they charge $5 more for french tips as opposed to the advertised $35 rate for the acrylic set; and 3) the shine has really dulled after a week of having them.

This place is great! The staff works very hard and my nails have never looked better in my life. It is a friendly environment and they are very good to their customers. Make an appointment! I've never seen or had a bad experience in this place yet and I have been regularly going for over a year now.

I went here for my first pedicure and manicure. Except I was confused because it was my first time. So while all I really wanted was a nail color change to a French manicure, I still got the pedicure.
I really liked it. My feet were soaked before my nails were filed and buffed. My calves were exfoliated with a scrub and finally hot stones were used to massage the soles of my feet and my calves. The women were nice, especially Pong. Wen did my toes and everything was affordable and speedy-- which I needed as I was in a hurry to get somewhere after.
