RTMA will remain open from 8:00am until 6:00pm daily Monday thru Friday. No Saturday classes to accommodate the needs of our members and staff. Our facility's design allows for the appropriate separation of children based on the current government recommendations. We will continue to care for your children and provide a safe and clean environment.

Richmond Traditional Martial Arts is a prestigious martial arts studio in Mechanicsville, Virginia. We also serve students from surrounding areas Hanover, Henrico, and Glen Allen. At RTMA we teach children's classes in Tae Kwon Do. Tae Kwon Do is a popular martial art for children because it is so well rounded in the fundamental techniques of kicking, hand strikes, and blocks. A strong foundation in the fundamentals is critical for your child to be able to excel in our Adult Classes when they reach the age of 14.
Atemi Ryu Jujitsu is different from similar disciplines in a few ways, beginning with the shorter amount of time necessary to become confident in this self-defense system. Masters of this discipline tend to focus on the basic, practical aspects of the art. This leads to the second distinction between Atemi and other methods taught in a more traditional jujitsu class: flexibility.
Krav Maga is a form of hand-to-hand combat developed by the Israel Defense Forces that is now used by members of the American military as well as members of law enforcement agencies. One of the primary goals of this fighting and defense method is the ability to disarm an opponent to reduce the impact of an attack.

I always feel welcome, the classes are smaller for a more intimate learning experience, and every attempt is made to meet your needs.
