Learn real boxing techniques and get in shaped in the ring can surely attest to this. As such, some of the greatest boxers of all time faced not only their opponents in the ring but also themselves. But the difference between being a hero and a coward, according to the late, great Cus D'amato, is that the hero always chooses to face his fears head-on.

Vintage Boxing Gym is Richmond's only old school boxing gym! Our goal is teaching the sweet science of boxing the old school way, by focusing on proper technique and form. Vintage Boxing welcomes students of all ages, genders, and skill levels. Whether you're an experienced fighter, new to boxing, looking for a fun workout, or your child wants to learn to box, we have programs for everyone!
Footwork is one of the fundamentals of boxing and the first thing you learn. Footwork allows you to be mobile. Being mobile gets you into position more quickly in order to effectively deliver combinations. Footwork drills also build up the muscles in the lower body. This translates directly into power during your punches.
Participate in any of our hour-long classes or if you have boxing experience come enjoy open gym time for $30. Description: Private Lessons are perfect for beginners trying to master the basics or more experienced members fine-tuning their skills. Thai yoga is always performed clothed, on a mat, or on the floor.
Our Intro to Boxing program is a great way to get started. It's an eight class program based over four weeks. The course takes you through the basics of boxing and is a great way to get involved with the Vintage Boxing family. What you get with a membership at Vintage Boxing is strength and conditioning, mobility and recover, breathing exercises and techniques, and authentic and real boxing techniques from certified trainers.

I wandered in here looking for a strength training class I had signed up for on class pass. The address listed on class pass was wrong so I couldn’t take the class I intended, but there happened to be a strength training class here at that time, and the instructor encouraged me to join.
Everyone was friendly and I felt welcome. Although it is a boxing gym, the strength training class had standard strength training exercises: dumbbells, kettle bell, core work, etc. This was a positive experience and a good work out. 👍

I only lived in Richmond for a short time, but this little gym was my favorite part of my time there. I boxed a little bit when I was younger, and was still very inexperienced, but I was welcomed at the gym as soon as I walked in. Everyone is very nice, and they make you feel right at home. The monthly fees are very reasonable, especially in light of all the hands-on training you get at each session. I haven't been able to find a gym quite like it since I left Richmond. Just try it once and you'll love the confidence you get as a result.

Amazing gym with a great and supportive community surrounding it. The owner Eric goes around and talks to everybody, gets us motivated and really cares about our fitness. All of the coaches and trainers are highly qualified and personable. The classes are tough and perfect for getting conditioned and learning how to box. There’s a wide variety of classes to take at each level of fitness. I’m going to be really sad when I leave for college and have to part ways for a few months.

Great gym for people of all skill levels and goals. Whether you want to get in shape or be a competitive boxer, there is something to get you there. All of the coaches and other people at the gym are very friendly and willing to help. Lots of conditioning classes in addition to boxing classes and tons of open gym time. I highly recommend it!

I used to box as a young teen and when joining Vintage Boxing a few months ago, it felt like coming home. What a great, welcoming environment. The coaches I've worked with have been great--Eric, Garreth, Marcus, and Ryan all pay particular attention to technique. They push you to be your own personal best, and there hasn't been a time where I wasn't welcomed with a smile and a genuine interest in improving my well being. They have fostered something unique and special to Richmond. You will not be disappointed.

I just started here a few weeks ago, and it's absolutely incredible! Not only the coaches, but EVERYONE there is super supportive and friendly. I'm excited to go boxing every day and I go home feeling refreshed with a clear mind. This is also really good if your in your head a lot. I would definently recommend this place to anyone.

I hung a bag in my gym at home and discovered I really liked punching it as a stress reliever. So I decided to look around at lessons or classes, but most of the stuff I came across looked like simply cardio-based training. I'm the kind of guy that wants to learn how to do something the right way, even it's just a hobby. A few people directed me to Eric and from the first lesson you will understand the passion he has for the sport of boxing and technique. There is almost a pinch of OCD in doing things the right way, and he lays the fundamentals down and we begin every lesson by making

This is such a phenomenal place. The environment is welcoming, encouraging, and also challenging. The coach is extremely knowledgeable and can teach at beginner and advanced levels. I just finished the intro class and had no prior experience. It's been a great experience learning the art of this sport. I highly recommend checking it out!

I have been training under the positive influence of Eric Ash for over a year now, and I have never felt this strong and confident in my life. The techniques and skills he teaches are challenging and fun, and the positive atmosphere he has created is addictive. If you are interested in taking up a fun and challenging sport, then I strongly suggest taking a class at Vintage Boxing Club.
