My husband had an emergency situation with his eye on a Sunday. We couldn't get any doctor to look at him. A resident here was nice enough to see him on her day off and seemed to be quite thorough. We were there for almost three hours and she gave him every test and scan... Coming to the conclusion that it was a detached retina. She then sent us to the UIC ER, told us the name of the doctor who would be expecting us and wished us luck. Well, they weren't expecting us and she never sent over any of the numerous scans she took. The ER opthalmologist gave a completely different diagnosis after re

Doctors take time and give very good exam. You have to make appointment to pick out eyeglass here. It was worth wait. I don't believe the beautiful eyeglass frame in this place. Kinds of eyeglass I don't see anywhere else. Very surprised to find place that has choice like this. Good price for what you get and all the people here very nice. Wish I knew before about them.

Unfortunately they have many days where they seem to have their phone number unavailable or don't pick up to to be able to schedule so be patient. Appointments are filled for weeks so make your appointment ASAP. Exam was very thorough but keep in mind the students do most of the work. Expect to be there about 2 hours at your appointment. Also, if you want to pick out your glasses, at the moment scheduling is very off and you have to make an appointment for another day and not right after your visit with the optometrist.

I believe one of the most important positions in a business is the front line staff, and at the Illinois Eye Institute, I have always appreciated their professionalism, respectfulness and kindness. This year I had the pleasure to be assisted by Mrs. Martha Seyffert!!! She is AMAZING! Mrs. Seyffert went above and beyond to assist me with resolving an issue I was having obtaining a form for my teenage daughter. She worked closely with me and reassured me the entire time, the issue would be resolved, and even took the document needed for my daughter's school to the mail room to ensure it went out

This is a horrible organization. They have optical exams that last two hours. After my first exam they asked me to come in for the same exam a second time. It would seem that the doctors who completed the first exam were not competent and a second exam needed to be completed. This should have been a red flag for me, but it was not and I completed a second exam. That was two months ago. I have been consistently trying to call the Illinois Eye Institute Eyewear Center. I would always get a voicemail and have to leave a message. When I was finally connected with them they refused to give me an appointment

I give the receptionist, and operator, and eyewear receptionist this rating unprofessional, unhelpful, and lazy it's time for some new faces and receptionist who actually want to do the there job, time for someone in eye wear to actually do there job. I've been coming here for 8 years because the doctor's at this institute are great, but lord knows they can use an upgrade in there front desk areas

This is the best eye clinic I’ve been to personally for primary care. The exam was comprehensive and I received information I’ve never even been told. And I go to the eye doctor every year faithfully. Sometimes twice a year. I am glad I finally found a clinic that makes me feel like eye appointments are worth it. I was certain I wasn’t getting the comprehensive care I needed from other clinics but I didn’t know what was missing until I became a patient at the eye institute.
