Our school is the result of the efforts of Professor Mike Buckels, a 2nd Degree Black Belt under Marcio Feitosa and Master Carlos Gracie Jr. We offer world-class level Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu instruction for individuals, families, and Law Enforcement officials of Washington and is a reference for fitness, character development, self-defense, martial arts, and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu training for the communities of Washington, St. Louis, and O'Fallon.
Our Washington MO kid's martial arts classes are available to 4-6 year-olds, 7-9 year-olds, and are an engaging, welcoming, and safe way to introduce children to Jiu-Jitsu! Gracie Barra's Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu classes were created to help kids develop confidence, respect, and happiness. Our instructors cater to the individual needs of each student and our classroom environments are fun and inviting.
My kids wanted to sign up for BJJ lessons so we went in to talk the folks at Gracie Barra. My wife and I were so impressed with Professor Mike and Professor Jake, that I signed up the entire family. Mike is a master level practitioner of the martial arts with over 25 years of experience and holding 7 degrees of black belt in various forms of martial arts including a 3rd-degree black belt in Brazilian jiu-jitsu under Master Carlos Gracie Jr. and professor Marcio Feitosa.
Mike has over 30 Podiums in International, National and State martial arts competition including the IBJJF Pan American, Copa Pacifica, and WKSA World Championship making him one of the most decorated and experienced instructors in the area.Although professor Mike was born right here in St. Louis, the majority of his martial arts training took place in California, where he lived for almost 18 years.
