At Akula Taekwondo, we train for success in all of life's endeavors. Outstanding instructors encourage students to aim high, break through their comfort zones, and accomplish BIG goals. Thus, we help our martial artists see that they are stronger, faster, and more energetic than they imagined possible.
The instructors at Akula Taekwondo in Novi, Michigan are outstanding martial artists and highly skilled motivators. They lead by example and teach with patience and enthusiasm, combining respectful discipline with a friendly, hands-on approach. Our instructors focus on building self-confidence, character, and skill in students through mental and physical discipline.
Akula's Taekwondo curriculum focuses on traditional martial arts training philosophies, balanced with modern fitness principles. Thus, we encourage students to become true martial artists through lifestyle changes and long-term commitment. Poomsae (Form) is an essential part of Akula's Taekwondo curriculum.
Children must be wearing a uniform and belt to receive the stripes required to advance to the next belt. From Memorial Day to Labor Day, students may wear an Akula t-shirt in lieu of the uniform top. Only Akula t-shirts are considered part of the uniform. Once an instructor gives you a signal to come onto the mat, bow onto the mat and join class.
Our martial arts school is conveniently located to serve Novi, Northville, South Lyon, Farmington Hills, Wixom, Walled Lake and surrounding areas. We aim to make every class at Akula Taekwondo the best martial arts instruction experience available for kids, teens, and adults. Consequently, individuals in search of a fitness and life-enhancement routine that benefits body, mind, and spirit enroll in our martial arts program throughout the year.

My Son and my Daughter have been attending the classes at Akula from last One year, they hardly missed a class and they don’t want to miss any. Akula has classes for all age groups and especially the younger ones are so excited and happy to be in the class. Mr. Tegler is an excellent instructor and is very humble; all kids love him and respect him. I Highly Recommend!

Our daughter started with a friend in May. She immediately fell in love with the sport and wanted to go to as many classes as she could. She practiced all the time at home and soon earned all her white belt stripes and tested to get her yellow belt. The instructor pushes the kids to do their best and gives lots of encouragement. The kids who attend are all great, friendly and respectful to each other. We have really enjoyed being part of this studio!

Akula Taekwondo is so much more than just a karate school. They teach kids great life skills such as respect, discipline, focus, and teamwork. The staff is professional and truly cares about each child. They've been very conscious of cleanliness. I highly recommend this martial arts community!
