We are located in downtown Plymouth and offer the highest level of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu instruction and training in the area. Whether you are interested in fitness, self-defense, or competition, our Academy will help you reach your goals. The foundation of our curriculum comes from the techniques mastered and tested by World Champions.

Our Academy is an affiliate of Detroit Jiu-Jitsu Academy. Our members consistently medal at national and world level competitions yearly. All of the affiliate owners have medaled at the World or Pan American Championships. With over ten years of experience, Instructor Eric Leach brings a passion for the sport like few others.

I came to formula BJJ to train with John and Eric while in the area for work. They're both great instructors who love to teach and share their passion for BJJ in both gi and no-gi. Everyone at the gym is really welcoming and friendly and there is a great atmosphere. I'll definitely be back next time I come through town!

My daughter showed up for her very first class and I was blown away by the positive attention that she received. Also, the energy released and exercise that the class provided was beneficial for everyone; kids and parents. Can't wait to come back next week.

World class (with the medals to back it up) instructors. Great atmosphere. Great people. BJJ is dangerous, and you have to be careful who you train with. Partners who don't respect you can cause injuries. Very good community to train with.

This is an excellent gym. Awesome people and an awesome culture. Clean and a decent sized space. Affordable for a fairly good sized class schedule. A great place to train for anyone at any experience level. 10/10 recommend.

instructors are very nice and patient. they are totally cool with people like me, in their 30s not having a background. Jiu-Jitsu is definitely a challenge but its so fun that becomes rewarding to learn. Great place to learn. Also Eric checks on his students pretty regularly.
