Olympia Taekwondo is a family run martial arts studio. We believe that a family atmosphere will help students prosper and grow to their full potential. We have been running our studios for more than 40 years. We teach life-skills, self-defense, self-discipline, self-confidence, and self-respect. We also teach multiple martial art disciplines such as Taekwondo, Hapkido, and Judo, including weapons.

Olympia Taekwondo is proud to have top quality instructors in the Canton and Commerce Township areas of Michigan. Our instructors have proven themselves both on the mat and off the mat to be top-quality leaders. We pride our martial arts instructors to teach values of martial arts such as courtesy, integrity, perseverance, self-control, and indomitable spirit.
At Olympia, we have designed our Adult program so busy professionals and parents can come in and relieve their daily stress and enjoy time for themselves while learning the art of taekwondo. If you are worried about what to do with your children our lobby area is equipped to allow your children the opportunity to do their homework or play while you are working out.
Learning martial arts helps develop coordination, balance, following directions, and awareness in a fun and safe environment! Parents get to be involved in assisting their little ones and help them accomplish new skills! Classes focus on motor skills, social skills, kindness, and respect. This is a great learning and bonding activity to do along with your 2 to 3-year-old.
Students will develop focus, balance, lining up, cooperation, speed, hand-eye coordination, left and right, all of which will help create a strong foundation to build continued training in Martial Arts, and will help with other activities as well. It's a non-contact class, using pads, obstacles, in a large room with an Olympic style mat which is padded, yet gives the resistance needed to perform each move.
Our junior class consists of students ranging in age from 5 to 12 years old. Our philosophy at Olympia is to teach life skills along with martial arts. Classes are instructed and tailored to help the beginning student start at the first level and work their way up the ranks system without the added pressure of higher rank students in the class.

I have been going here for a little over a year now and take belt level, as well as adult sparring classes here. Great group of people and amazing family. They made me feel at home after moving here and I met a lot of great friends. I tried 7 other placed before landing here and they are clearly the best.

We have 4 sons and have been to 3 different gyms for taekwondo. All have had their strengths but Olympia has become their home away from home. Master Alex, Grandmaster Covert, and Master Laura personally know every kid and take the time to teach positive character traits that will last a lifetime. They create a family friendly environment that has drawn in a growing adult class with parents joining.

Olympia truly is family! They train hard and strive for the best. The staff are amazing, you can tell they love their job and their students. Early on my two kids were not doing so well with their wheelbarrow walk. Master Alex picked my daughter up by her ankles and carried her upside down the rest of the way. It was at that moment I fell in love with Olympia!
Olympia was our saving grace in the middle of the pandemic, a place for normal and to be around other kids.
Olympia’s trunk or treat is fun and picnic testing is a blast!

After some research and a reliable recommendation, I decided to try out Olympia (Commerce) for my 11 year old daughter. After the first 2 classes, I was convinced of the quality of teaching. Master Alex was training a mat of over 40 people of all ages and not only was he in complete command of the class, but he was welcoming and helpful to my daughter. Not every class is that full, but I was impressed with the strong teaching on that night.

This is one of the best places to take your child and yourself! The Covert Family are exceptional people and not only provide great instruction, but also provide a place for a family to grow from the community. You cannot find a more amazing place and we are blessed to be a part of the Olympia family. To the TROLL trying to lower their exceptional rating, shame on you. I cannot imagine why a person would do such a thing to such great people.

The program here is amazing! The instructors are knowledgeable, caring, fun and friendly! My son and I have been going to this school for over a year now and we are in the best shape of our lives, both physically and mentally. If your child is being bullied, or has a low self-esteem, or if you could use a positive force in your life, THIS is the school to check out!
